your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...
Well the Rovers is in surprisingly good shape considering all the recent break-ins, teen booze parties, and serial killer mayhem. Still, all credit to Jenny and Daisy. Using nothing more than a little elbow grease, the efforts of good neighbours and a pile of stolen cash, they have whipped the Rovers into shape just in time for New Year's Eve.
It's a little bittersweet for new co-owner Daisy as her attempts to cozy up to Daniel fall flat - especially when Bethany shows up and quickly inserts herself into Danny Boy's bed. Seems Bethany is back for a visit although Gail and the Platts are a little chagrined to learn that her booty call at Daniel's took precedence over the family reunion.
Another Corrie alumnus to return is Damon who seems to be intent on getting his revenge on Adam after being chased out of town by some bad dudes. Damon's other priority is seeing Sarah who gives him the heave ho (for now anyway). On the revenge front, Damon has a bit more success as he kidnaps and terrorizes Adam but falls short of killing the Crying Scotsman. Once freed, Adam is determined to get Damon banished from Coronation Street... again.
Stu finally tells Yasmeen about his underhanded efforts to bribe Dom to move back to Germany, a plan which has backfired because Eliza is now miserable and missing her Dad. Stu tries to fix things by contacting Dom in the fatherland but, so far, to no avail.
Bobby continues to be the bane of Carla as the wise-cracking, young layabout seems to require food, money and alcohol while remaining (mostly) anchored to the couch. Carla thinks he needs a job and sets him up as a sales person at Underworld (on a trial basis).
The sad saga of Ed continues. Dee Dee tries to help her Dad as he hits rock bottom with his gambling addiction. His first steps are to sell the builder's yard (to help pay off his debts) and attend support group meetings. Sarge has a few kind words for his son. Michael is not so forgiving.
And now a few lines from the week that was:
Daniel describes Bethany's meeting with Daisy to Ken:
"Bethany was in a towel"
(cotton or polyester?)
Daisy lashes out at Bethany:
"My side of the bed is barely cold and you're already in it"
(thanks for keeping it warm!)
Daniel to Daisy:
"I'm sick of your drama"
(then you're in the wrong show, mate)
Adam to the desk sergeant at the police station:
"I've just been kidnapped and held at gunpoint"
(so what's your complaint, sir?)
"I can't sit here in wet clothes"
(I'm surprised you can sit there in dry clothes)
