your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...
Aha! So Sharon is up to no good. (and, btw, her voice makes Eartha Kitt sound like Bjork).
The deets about Sharon? Well, first of all, turns out she's the nephew of Harvey (local drug Lord currently in prison) and has been dispatched to Weatherfield to find out where Leanne is hiding so Harvey can put the kibosh on Leanne's incriminating evidence and reduce his prison sentence.
So, Sharon tries in vain to squeeze info out of Gail, Sarah et al. but then discovers young Sam, son of Nick. Sharon encourages Sam to contact Nick (who is also in hiding) as she thinks Sam is the key to finding Nick and Leanne, but now Sharon is afraid that Harvey might harm the lad. Meanwhile over at the hideout, Leanne is angry with Nick for breaking silence.
Elsewhere, things come to a head over at Dev's as he rows with Asha about her relationship with Corey, the professional toe rag. Asha leaves home and moves in with Corey at Leanne's old flat (paid for by Corey's rich Dad). Dev visits Papa Toe Rag (aka Corey's Dad) to get him to send Asha back home but Papa Toe Rag seems pretty blasé about the situation.
Peter gets called to the transplant centre for a new liver but it turns out the liver is not viable so the transplant is a no-go. However Simon shows up much to Peter's surprise. Simon was in hiding with Leanne and Nick but when he found out about the liver transplant, he made a beeline for the hospital. Only problem is that a hospital cleaner/snitch has seen Si and alerted someone.
Over at the undertaker's it's Todd's funeral, so to speak. Todd's relentless upselling upsets a customer and George fires Todd.
Nina is hurt by Seb's careless banter with his co-workers, making fun of Nina. The two eventually make up and it looks like Seb will be moving in with Nina over at Roy's.
Ty and Tim have different visions of Kev's stag do. Tim is more of a Rover's guy. Ty has turned into an ice bar aficionado and a habitué of a groovy hangout called Ennui. Oh the tediousness of it all!
More problematic than Ennui is the fact Tyrone is planning to bring Alina to Kev and Abi's wedding. Not a good idea.
And now a few lines from the week that was:
Nina to Roy who serves her comfort food after she falls out with Seb:
"Who needs boys when you can have a chocolate cake the size your head ?"
Sharon is surprised to learn that Gail keeps her contacts on a tablet:
"Gail's gone digital"
Ty tells Tim about a groovy nightclub:
"Ennui has an ice bar"
(who wants to drink ice?)
Dev to Yasmeen:
"Asha moved in with that twerp Corey"
Tim complains about Ty's choice of nightclub:
"It's where he goes with Pebbles"
Todd brags to George about the expensive funeral package he sold:
"His wife's funeral is going to make Kim Jong-il look like a cheapskate"
