your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...
As they are walking home together, Nina and Seb are brutally attacked by a group of young thugs. Could Corey (primo toe rag), his doofus pals, and hanger-on Kelly be involved? Based on Corey's desperate attempt to cover his tracks and Kelly's guilty looks, it would seem that one or both are up to their necks. On top of that, Asha is wondering what Corey has been up to as he doesn't seem to spend much time with her in their new flat.
At the hospital, Nina finally regains consciousness and mentions the name "Corey". Abi then seeks out the Toe Rag to confront him. Roy remains at Nina's bedside and blames himself for not looking after his niece. Meanwhile Seb remains unconscious and the extent of his brain injuries is not yet known.
All this overshadows the hen do (featuring Debbie with her Ed Grimley hairdo) and the stag taking place before the wedding of Kev and Abi. The wedding plans run into a few snags (Sally loses her voice, the venue needs emergency repairs and Ty quits as best man). However all is resolved but then Abi learns that Seb is in hospital and the wedding is postponed.
After visiting Peter, Simon returns successfully to his hiding place and Carla manages to foil attempts by Sharon's cronies to discover Leanne's hiding place.
And now for some lines from the grim week that was.
Kev assures Abi that his priority is her, not his stag evening:
"There's more important things than being out on the town with the Three Stooges"(that's Tim, Dev and Ty, if you're keeping score)
Dev tries to comfort Asha after the attack on Nina:
"Some things in life, they just don't make sense"

(Sad but true)
Roy to Nina:
"I take umbrage on a daily basis"

"I take umbrage on a daily basis"
(Is that a new medication from Pfizer?)
Corey tells Summer that they need to lie to protect their future careers:
"If I stay focused, I'll be playing in the Premier League"

(Are you kidding? He drinks, smokes, commits felonies and hardly practices)
Abi confronts Corey about the assault on Nina and Seb:
"Now's the time to start talking while you still can"

(Yes)
Abi has trouble writing her marriage vows:
" 'Kevin'...that's it. That's all I've got"

(works for me. Short and sweet)
Harvey is impatient with Sharon's failed attempts to find Leanne:

"You mess up this time; you're dead"
(Bit harsh. Maybe just give her a poor performance review?)
Alina is turned on by Tyrone's refusal to be Kev's best man unless she is invited to the wedding:
"It's also very sexy. Leave the sandwich"
(a sarnie or a legover? Tough call)

Well, faithful followers, so ends another week. Fingers crossed that Weatherfield General will work another one of its miracles for Seb and Nina. I expect the local cop shop will make one of their frequent trips to Coronation Street to investigate the assault and hopefully the guilty individual or individuals will get what's coming to them. Thanks for spending some time at the Hip and have a great week.
