Coronation Street Catch Up: the Nipper Snapper edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Have you noticed that prominent "Heineken 0.0" tap at the Rovers?

Maybe they're trying to tell us something...

There has certainly been a lot of alcohol consumed recently and that's led to a situation involving Amy and Aaron. The two get bladdered together but then Aaron takes things further without Amy's consent, As a result, Amy is upset and angry, while Aaron thinks it's okay to move on since he is now back together with Summer.

An understandably distressed Amy moves out of the apartment and back home with Tracy. Tracy knows something is bothering Amy but doesn't know what... yet. If and when she finds out, she'll be gunning for Aaron (who seems to have undergone a personality transplant since he used to be nice).

Moving on.

Stephen tries to give Carla another LSD-laced beverage but screws up and drinks it himself. He has a bad trip and is unable to do his spiel about Underworld's new product line. Sarah steps in and saves the day.

Meanwhile, in a post-LSD daze, Stephen agrees to not only buy a house with Elaine but also marry her. Tim is not very happy about the house... just wait till he finds out about the marriage.

Carla is not happy with Stephen after he bulldozed his way into Sarah's meeting with a U.S. buyer for the new Nipper Snapper (not crazy about the name . I prefer Funzie Onesie).

Daisy's woes continue when she meets her Mom's new beau who turns out to be professional creep and stalker, Justin. Fortunately, her Mom, Christina, dumps Justin quickly but it's just another unpleasant twist in the stalking nightmare that Daisy is experiencing. Still, no need for Daisy to insult Maria after Maria kindly offered to step in for the original wedding hairdresser (who fell ill).

Beth finally admits that she did indeed slap Hope. Hope wants Ty and Fiz to report the incident to the police but her parents are not keen. Kirk is horrified by Beth's admission and the fact that she lied to him.

Paul's lawyer (Dee Dee) is suing Carla for compensation after she injured Paul. Paul, in expectation of a large compo sum, takes out a loan. Bad idea. Billy thinks so too.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Kirk to Beth, after learning that she lied to him about the slap:
"I'll sleep in Peanut's room tonight"
(Peanut's got a room?)

Daisy's dismissive name for Maria:
"Spawn of Audrey"
(Isn't that Gail?)

Jenny to Daisy after she insults Maria:
"At this rate you're going to be turning up at your wedding in a Bonnie Tyler wig"
(Total Eclipse of the Vows)

Debbie to Stephen & Sarah:
"We're all gender fluid now, you know"
(Thanks for letting us know)

Bernie to Aaron:
"An ex is ex for a good reason"
(ex-actly)

Elaine to Stephen:
"Maybe it's time to start thinking about retirement?"
(... from fraud and murder?)

American buyers to Sarah:
"Tell us about Nipper Snapper"
(how much time do you have?)

Daisy to Jenny:
"You don't think I'm being OTT with the SPO"
(NO)

Well, passionate punters, so ends another week. Looks like we're in for a torturous and unpleasant story line involving Amy and Aaron. Why can't we have more plots involving Roy and his Bat Society? Or Evelyn's battles at the charity shop? Oh well. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
