Coronation Street Catch Up: the companions with benefits edition

your one-stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

In the aftermath of Rana's death, Kate and Imran continue to grieve. When Lolly shows up, Kate tells her to sling her hook (you recall that Lolly ruined Rana's dress which in turn led to Rana being in the factory when the roof fell in). As for Imram, he harbours a grudge against Carla.

The investigation into the factory roof collapse continues and Wayne questions Sally. He also finds time to help Roy investigate the mystery of Roy's mother's ring.

Robert is back and determined to return to the Bistro despite Michelle's desire to get rid. Peter and Carla are also back from Southampton. Peter sold his boat and gives the proceeds to Gary in exchange for Gary's silence about Carla's culpability (since Carla knew that the roof was unsafe).

Gary takes the cash but it's not enough to pay off a guy named Rick who seems to be a thug, a sort of Phelan 2.0. Seems like Gary is getting himself into deep trouble... again.

Good news! Baby Bertie is home at last and doing well, Bertie's relatives? Not so much. Thanks to a new baby monitor, the gang are able to eavesdrop on Beth trash-talking Claudia while changing a diaper. Awkward!

Then Claudia and Ken fall out over the definition of their relationship. Friends? Companions? Amigos?

Tim's not feeling so good. Small wonder, he's having a mild heart attack. Lucky that Gina (who's on her way out of town because no one likes her) spots Tim's condition and insists that he see a doctor. Tim's fine but it looks like there are salads in his future.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Sinead offers an hors d'oeuvre to Tracy
"Cheeseball?"
(that's what they call her)

Sally to the doctor re: Tim:
"He wouldn't know a mango if it hit him on the head"
(he's fruit challenged)

Kate to Lolly:
"You're a vile poisonous cow"
(nothing personal)

Beth to Claudia and Ken:
"Are you companions with benefits?"
(if you mean pensions, then yes)

Steve to Sinead
"I will have a bite of your cheeseyballs"
(and then he'll have an hors d'oeuvre)

Well, faithful followers, so ends another week and it looks like we have another case of a Corrie character falling under the thumb of a loan shark thug. In this case Rick. Not sure if I'm ready for another villain on the Street. Oh well.

We are now into the playoff season so the Corrie schedule is changed for a few weeks and it's on much earlier than usual (too early for a G & T, too late for a cuppa). What to do? Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.
