Coronation Street Catch Up: the lonely goatherd edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Peter needs a liver.

Seems that sobriety, jigsaw puzzles and Carla's wedding plans are not enough to heal his troubled organ (still talking about his liver, btw) and he's finally reached the end of the line. Now he has to be assessed to see if he can get on the list for a liver transplant.

Neither Peter nor Nick were apprised of Leanne's involvement with the drug gang so it all comes as quite a shock. Peter and Nick didn't know that Leanne was trying to extricate Simon from the clutches of drug lord Harvey by taking on Simon's drug duties and then turning informant for the police.

The truth finally comes out when the police swoop in to arrest Harvey and his cronies (Simon too but that's just for appearance sake). Leanne remains worried about reprisals from the drug gang's "friends" and so plans a getaway with Simon. So it looks like Nick will get his flat back but lose Leanne.

Meanwhile, there are heartbreaking scenes over at Ty and Fiz's house as Ty finally confesses that he doesn't love Fiz anymore and is in love with Alina. The news doesn't go down well with the Street sages (Sally, Kirk, Ches to name a few). Ty appears at Alina's flat to tell her he's in love with her but Alina doesn't seem too pleased. She's not happy about being targeted as the Scarlet woman behind the breakup of his marriage.

The unrelenting hate towards Cathy continues all because of some ill-advised social media posts.  Alex is now being targeted as he tries to defend his aunt online and even Gemma turns her back on Cathy.

Todd has found himself a job working for George the undertaker. And, of course, Todd being Todd, he wastes no time scheming and doing his best to get Eileen and George romantically involved - for devious purposes. Asha is seeing her ex, Corey, again much to the dismay of Dev. Craig and Faye seem to be back on romantic terms.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Billy to Todd re: Todd's attempts to use Eileen to insinuate himself into George's business:
"You are basically pimping out your Mom"
(and your point is?)

Maria tries to console Fiz:
"He's a man. Most men are idiots"
(can't argue with that deductive reasoning)

Dev to Asha re: Corey
"Why is that waste of space back in your life? "
(beats me)

Elaine to Craig as she and Faye watch 'The Sound of Music':
"We're just in the middle of the lonely goatherd"
(that sounds very uncomfortable)

Elaine again:
"Can you yodel, Craig?"
(only while on duty)

Kirk to Craig:
"I'm going to tell you something about sex"
(should I take notes?)

Todd to Eileen re: Mary's fashion sense:
"The woman who puts the ump in frump"
(from the guy who puts the e in evil)

Bernie tells Tracy to behave in the caf:
"Back off before I give you that coffee as an enema"
(finally! an uplifting storyline)

Well, fellow Weatherfield watchers, so ends another week. I hope we've seen the last of Harvey and his thugs. Not a big fan of the whole drug storyline. Oh well. Thanks for visiting and have a great week.
