Coronation Street Catch Up: the ill conceived and foolhardy edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Need a paternity test kit? You're in luck. I think Dev has a two-for-one special this week.

But enough levity. This is a serious situation for Michael who is told by Uncle Ronnie that he might actually be Daddy Ronnie. Huh? Seems Ronaldo and Aggie had a thing before Aggie and Edison became a couple. So Michael's paternity could be in question.

Of course Ed is adamant that Michael is his son, but Michael wants to be certain. As for Michael and Grace's newborn - she seems to be doing well.

Elsewhere Tiresome Todd continues to play head games with Rev Billy and Paul (who seem to be as malleable as Play-doh). Scheming Todd manages to get Paul together with some guy to make Billy jealous and, at the same time, tells Billy he's taking a new job out of town. The ruse works. Billy tells Paul to do one and insists on getting back together with Todd. All this based on Todd's web of lies.

The tension mounts between Ty and Fiz who are having trouble getting over Ty's single snog with Alina. Meanwhile Maria sticks her oar in and tells Alina to stay out of Tyrone's way.

Nina and Seb seem to have something going as the two prepare for a first date. At the same time, Asha seems amenable to getting back together with Senor Toe Rag (Corey).

Faye is apprehensive about her future and her sentencing following her ill-advised assault on Adam with a hospitality award. Abi and Sally offer moral support as does Craig who is rebuffed by Faye. A visit to Gary in prison convinces Faye not to push Craig away.

Imran and Toyah have been approved to be temporary foster parents to Kelly. Leanne and Simon convince an upset Nick that Leanne has a new man in her life (in order to cover up their actual drug dealing activities). Natasha shows up mysteriously at Underworld to commiserate with Nick and offer him... um.. accommodation.

And now for some lines from the week that was:

Roy to Nina re: her impromptu cafe terrasse/road blocking action:
"This protest is ill conceived and foolhardy"
(I'd like a quiet table by the curb, please)

Maria to Alina:
"Why couldn't you leave Tyrone alone?
(Most women seem to be able to)

Gemma to Paul re: Todd:
"He's insensitive and he's a tool"
(no argument here)

Ty tells Fiz he's done everything he can to make amends:
"The ball's in your court"
(that's a tennis analogy, right?)

Todd to Paul re: Billy:
"We're the flock and he's the shepherd"
(but Todd's the one pulling the wool over your eyes)

Michael to Edison:
"You're 100 % sure you're my father?"
(well, more like 98% sure)

Eileen to Todd after he confesses his manipulative lies:
"So you've been playing me like a fiddle?"
(just call her Mrs. Stradivarius)
***

Well, cobble colleagues, so ends another week. Can Todd really get away with such evil duplicity?  I hope not. But that Billy is one gullible Reverend. Oh well, let's see what transpires next week. Thanks so much for dropping by and I hope you have a great week.
