Coronation Street Catch Up: the hairy kiwi edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Sincere apologies for the late post. I was out shopping for fruit and I couldn't find any nice kiwis. They were all a bit too hairy for my liking. I'll make this short and sweet (the blog post, I mean)

Speaking of which, the crisis du jour seems to be Dev's seductive photo for the calendar of Weatherfield males in the buff. Hmm, how to explain? Well, seems there's been a bit of a cock-up with Dev's photo. He is posing with some fruit, but it appears that the kiwi hiding his manhood may appear, to the uninitiated, as part of Dev's.. um.. anatomy. 'Nuff said.

Dev's frantic because he is angling for a membership in a posh golf club but this faux pas may derail the decision. Too late to stop the presses though and Steve and sundry are busy sharing the image anyway.

Kelly's Mom is back and looking to earn some quick cash by selling her daughter's story to the press. She also managed to snag a job at Underworld as a cleaner, although her work ethic appears to be more like a skive ethic.

Grace has feelings for Michael but Michael wants to remain mates and co-parents. James is primed to do an interview with a prominent gay magazine. Curtis and Emma are together again but Emma seems to be over-compensating for Curtis' medical condition.

Over at the Bistro, Ty's wearing his fashion-impaired shirt and dining with Alina but is jealous of Fiz and Phil who happen to be at another table. The evening comes to a head when Ty's credit card is declined and Phil quietly settles the bill. Ty swings for Phil and afterwards Alina tells him to sleep on the sofa and wise up - or else.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Ty sarcastically to Craig as Craig stumbles upon him arguing with Phil:
"Lock me up for being horrible"
(not a bad idea)

Steve urges Tim to look closely at the photo of Dev:
"you need to zoom in on the fruit bowl between his legs"
(... and then quickly zoom out)

Deb to Brian regarding Kirk and the calendar:
"a naked Kirk is something no woman should have to see"
(except Beth, one presumes)

Brian reassures Ches about his appearance in the calendar:
"Your gentleman's area will be discreetly concealed"
(and so will his genitals)

Ty bemoans his lack of writing skill to Fiz:
"I'm no Wayne Wordsworth"
(I think you mean William Rooney)

Aadi describes Dev's posh golf club to Curtis:
"They're basically golf fascists"
(one day the caddies will rise up against them)

Dev to Aadi after a closer inspection of his calendar photo:
"Wait a minute, that's a kiwi!"
(we''ll need to bring in the forensic team to make sure)

***
That's all for this week, patient punters. Have a great week. Sorry again for the tardiness.
