Coronation Street Catch Up: the pint of cyanide edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Remind me to always start my PowerPoint presentations with a video of Todd. Seems to be a real audience grabber.

At least, that was the case last week when Paul swapped out Emma's computer with a computer featuring Todd's frank admission of all the bad stuff he did to engineer the breakup of Billy and Paul. The video was supplied by Will to Paul who then hijacked the calendar unveiling event and showed the audience the damning evidence.

Needless to say, it was a bombshell for Rev Billy (O, naïve one!) and Summer. First thing they did was report Todd to the coppers for stealing the heat pump (sounds like a Law & Order, HVAC episode). But luckily for Todd, he managed to get into the Express Justice line (8 felonies or less) and was back on the street in no time with just a slap on the wrist and some community service.

Of course, Toddie is now persona non grata. Even Eileen doesn't want anything to do with him but George the Undertaker believes Todd deserves a second chance so he keeps him employed and Todd vows to win Billy back.

Meanwhile, Summer passes out in the flat after sipping a cider with Aadi. Fortunately, she is okay and resting comfortably in the Coronation Street wing of Weatherfield General.

In the room down the hall from Summer (I presume) is James, recovering from knee surgery after an incident with the police. Michael and James were pulled over by a copper and, in the ensuing tense situation, James was injured. Now his football career is in jeopardy and Michael wants James to follow through with a formal complaint about the unjust actions of the copper.

As for Michael, he is not too chuffed about Grace's new affection for him. Michael sees their relationship as co-parents but Grace evidently sees them as a couple. Ronnie appears to be back on the scene telling Michael to be honest about his feelings - or lack thereof.

Fiz breaks off her burgeoning relationship with nice guy Phil. Meanwhile, over at the flat, Ty and Alina are making preparations for the new baby which is an irritant to Hope who thinks that Ty won't have time for her after the baby is born. To say Hope is a tad upset would be an understatement.

Ches is not learning sign language as fast as he would like and Gemma is much better at it, despite the assistance of Freda and her friend. Ches is still in favour of a cochlear implant for Aled but Gemma is not so sure.

Laura's evil plan to sell her daughter's story to the press falls apart once Toyah and Imran discover the plan and tell Kelly

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Todd to Billy:
"I loathe myself "
(not as much as we do)

Evelyn shares her wisdom with Fiz:
"Men, they're like rabbits, chase any bit of fluffy tail"
(doctors call it the 'bunny syndrome')

Billy describes Todd:
"Charles Manson in skinny jeans?"
(sounds like a stylish psycho)

Todd is reluctant to apologize to Billy:
"Sorry's for wimps"
(sorry to hear that)

Paul suggests a cocktail for Todd:
"A pint of cyanide"
(and a bag of pork scratchings)

Mary is peeved that Dev won't come to the calendar launch:
"He made Curtis cut his kiwi "
(and he isn't even a mohel!)

Steve to Mary about the display of his calendar photo:
"You keep your beady eyes off my crevice, thank you"
(there's probably more than one)

Well fellow cobbleros, so ends another week. Bit of a disappointment not seeing the calendar unveiling but maybe we'll get a look next week. I do hope James makes a full recovery and returns to the Weathy County team lineup. Thanks for stopping by and visiting the Hip. Always a pleasure to have your company. Cheers!
