Coronation Street Catch Up: the Ginger Tony Soprano edition

your one-stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Ryan is right, I think Gary does think he's Tony Soprano.

And, just to prove it, Gary tracks down his delinquent debtor and beats up Ryan in the alley outside his DJ gig.

Of course, Gary is also irritated by the fact that Derek (full time alcoholic and possible Gareth Southgate stunt double) is dating Izzy, signing contracts with Nick and asserting himself rather than meekly acquiescing to Gary's orders.

Meanwhile the kids on the Street are acting up from Dev's sullen daughter to Max who is testing the patience of Shona and Audrey. Hope is still being home schooled by Fiz. Math is not going well but Scrabble skills seem to be excellent.

The dark days continue for Daniel and Sinead and it's all too much for Daniel who winds up drunk at Edison's birthday party. Ken decides to scale back his Venice vacation with Claudia so he can stay close to Daniel. Also at Edison's party, James reveals to Bethany that he is gay, a conversation which is overheard by James' brother.

Rev Billy tries to find out why Paul is so upset by Kel, the old boyfriend of Bernie who seems to be back on the scene. Ali is suffering from withdrawal symptoms.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Faye serves Robert a latte while learning the ropes of working in the Bistro:
"One frothy coffee"
(I believe that's called a Cafe au Froth at Starbucks)

Emma to Steve who is getting down at Edison's party:
"You're not going to dance are you?"
(Oh the humanity!)

Cathy is horrified by Audrey's hair dye disaster:
"I asked for an auburn tint!"
(would you settle for a Black Sabbath?)

Michael to James:
"You're gay, aren't you?"
(not that there's anything wrong with that)

Audrey to James:
"James, you've got lovely teeth"
(not that there's anything wrong with that)

Ryan to Gary:
"Who do you think you are? Tony Soprano?"
(not that there's anything wrong with that)

Well, fellow Weatherfielders, so ends another week. Some interesting developments as well as the ongoing sad story of Sinead and Daniel. Since Weatherfield County FC has become such a prominent part of Corrie lately, maybe we'll get to see some actual footie scenes. Wouldn't that be great? I'd love to see James playing on the pitch. Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
