Coronation Street Catch Up: the load of pollocks edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Congratulations to Alina and Ty on their engagement!

I look forward to the wedding.. if and when Ty can extricate himself from his lip lock with Fiz. Yes, things are getting a little complicated for the messed-up mechanic. It all started when Ty told the police that it was Hope (not Fiz) who was responsible for the fire.  Despite the charge of arson, Hope is allowed to stay at home while she receives court-ordered counselling and therapy.

It's a stressful situation for everyone as Fiz and Ty struggle to overcome their differences and present a united front. Meanwhile, Alina is ready to forgive Ty and re-start their relationship with marriage on the agenda. So, pop open the Proseco... except now Tyrone seems to be canoodling with Fiz. This can't end well - even with Proseco.

Meanwhile the spectre of the trial following Seb's death continues to cast a large shadow. On one hand, Imran is stressed out as he tries to put together his defence of Kelly, At the same time, Abi is struggling and turns to Brian to help her write a heart-wrenching victim impact statement.

Sally is in activism mode as she tries to deal with the traffic and parking situation on Coronation Street. She's got support from Aggie but not from Tracy or Steve or Alya who believe parking restrictions will affect their businesses.

After some shenanigans and role playing (don't ask) Debbie finally sells half the Bistro to Nick and Leanne. There's a bit of cod cock-up to deal with but the new ownership group handily gets the fishy supplier to deliver cod (instead of the pollock).

Grace finds her living arrangements a bit cramped and wants to move into a new place with Michael and Glory but Michael isn't too keen as he doesn't want a romantic relationship with Grace.

And Daisy has officially dumped sad sack/DJ Ryan and has set her sights on Daniel, pretending to be interested in a teaching career. Will Daniel fall for the duplicitous damsel?

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Debbie wants Ronnie's help to deceive Leanne and Nick:
"I was wondering, as a savvy businessman who obviously knows his way around a deal, if you would do some role play with me?"
(sure, I'll be the sexy nurse in the tight uniform)

Ronnie isn't keen on Debs in a romantic way:
"It takes two flints to make a fire"
(although, to be fair, Deb is pretty flinty)

Jenny to Ronnie re: Debbie's overtures:
"She was like Jessica Rabbit ready to catch you in her booby trap"
(more like Carol Cougar)

The police detective questions Hope:
"Do you know the difference between the truth and a lie?"
(that's somewhat debatable)

Debbie to fishy fish salesman:
"Do I look like the sort of person who'll accept a load of pollocks?"
(she is a bit gill-uble)

Daisy to Daniel:
"You mean you thought I was a catty, airhead, wanna-be influencer?"
(that pretty well sums it up)

Alina to Ty:
"I would love to be Mrs. Dobbs. Let's get married"
(steady on, you'll have to take a number)

Jenny to Alya who calls Daisy a skank:
"Excuse me, that's my step skank"
(noted)

Alya to Emma re: her tiff with Ty:
"His daughter tried to set me on fire. Of course we have problems"
(oh yeah, that would explain it)

Sally believes Tim is being manipulated by Tracy:
"You're just her catspaw"
(just say 'meow' if you agree)

Tim to Sally:
"You're no Hillary Clinton"
(she doesn't have enough pantsuits in her closet)

Jenny to Daisy:
"Stop doing dislikeable things"
(sounds easy enough)

Well, kebab shop komrades, so ends another week. Quite a riveting week in its own way given Hope's situation and Abi's victim impact statement. Thanks so much for visiting. Always great to have your company. Have a great week!
