Coronation Street Catch Up: the extinction rebellion... with a curly blow edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Something old, something not,
Kev and Abi, tied the knot

Yes, Kevin and Abi finally get married. But it wasn't smooth sailing.  Poor Jack found Abi's note describing how she was going to kill Corey (she changed her mind, of course).  Then Jack shares the note with Debbie who tells Abi to sling her hook or she will tell Kevin the truth about the note.

However, even after Abi confesses everything to Kevin,  Kev still wants to marry her and Jack wants his Dad to marry Abi too. So Abi makes it to the registry office, the couple exchange improvised vows and the happy couple embrace.

But wait... there's more.

Nina chimes in after the ceremony with news that Corey has been charged, based on new evidence (Corey's bloodstained clothes) which Nina and Asha found by tracking down a homeless man (Stu) who happened to find Corey's discarded equipment bag.

There's only one snag. Corey seems to have left his home and can't be found. Looks like he's on the run.

Elsewhere, Maria is ramping up her campaign to stop the development of  a new highway which would wreck the Red Rec. Curtis takes a scary turn (while giving Steve's taxi a jump start) and then proposes to Emma

Zeedan is under continued pressure from his sinister Dad-in-law to launder more money more quickly.

Sam is in a state of grief about his Mum and is not talking. Nick's attempts to comfort him fall flat.

And now for some lines from the week that was:

Zeedan assures Hashim that he can launder money:
"I've got a plan cooking"
(for cooking the books?)

Maria's supporters have a chant:
"Air pollution's not a lie
Do not let our children die"
(or get sick...)

Debbie congratulates Kev after the wedding:
"Fourth time lucky, eh"
(here's hoping!)

Tracy to journalist re: Maria:
"Maria is mad about recycling... mostly men"
(she puts the 'men' in environ-men-talist)

Tracy again:
"She hasn't got a bedroom door, she's got a turnstile"
(just makes things easier)

Tracy once more:
"This is extinction rebellion with a curly blow"
(oh, that's what I call a low 'blow')

Maria to Gary:
"Our council should be trying to save this planet"
(or at least Greater Weatherfield)

Stu to Corey Brent:
"I've already worked out that you're pond life"
(that's an insult to pond life)

***
Well, wedding watchers, Kev and Abi finally get hitched. And it looks like Emma and Curtis might be next. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
