Coronation Street Catch Up: the flirting over Samosas edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Looks like Kelly has hit rock bottom.

First she was falsely accused of vandalizing Dev's car (the perpetrator turned out to be Aadi). Then she got on the wrong side of that guttersnipe Cole, a fellow house resident who demanded that Kelly steal phones for him.

After she left her room at the residence (you know, the suite with the 'Murderer' wall paper), Kelly almost got assaulted in a hotel room by some random sleaze ball businessman. Then her belongings got stolen. When Aadi finally offered her a place to stay, she discovered she wasn't welcome (thanks Asha!) and now she is destitute and homeless. Could things possibly get worse?

Phew. More misery abounds at the funeral for Johnny where Carla and Jenny deliver eulogies. Carla is obviously stressed and she decides to take two weeks off, leaving Sarah to cope with Underworld business.

Jenny gets legless at the post-funeral wake and also discovers that Johnny's will leaves her a lot while Carla and Kate get nothing. Awkward.

Meanwhile a bit of 'To Sir with Love' is playing out between Daniel and Summer. Summer is quite taken with Daniel, but Daniel sees Summer as more of a great babysitter and someone whom he is mentoring for her Oxford interview. When Summer discovers that Daniel's true romantic interest is Daisy, she is crestfallen.

On the other hand, Max is delighted to have Summer help him with his schoolwork and seems to be quite taken with her.

Speaking of burgeoning affection, new bro buddies Phil and Tyrone seems to getting along quite nicely these days. Ty dives back into the dating pool and has lunch with Isla, the Mom of one of Hope's friends. A nice flirty lunch at Speed Daal is rudely interrupted when Ty gets a punch in the nose from Isla's husband. Seems that Isla isn't separated after all.

Leanne and Nick decide it's time to move out of the hotel where they're staying and back into their flat. Sam remains mute and spends most of his time in his room despite the valiant efforts of Nick and Leanne to console him.

We haven't heard from Faye in a while. Tim visits her in jail and tries to comfort her to no avail. Sally shares her concern about Faye to Debbie and wishes that evil Ray Crosby would admit that he tried to rape Faye, something which might mitigate Faye's prison sentence.

And now for some lines from the week that was:

Daniel questions Adam's experience with women:
"You think you're Sean Connery because you copped off once or twice and you've been to Canada"
(only Canada, you say? Pity)

Adam reminds Daniel that he's also lost at love:
"I've been stung many times"
(lucky bees)

Aadi reminds Dev that he saved Asha first during the car crash:
"You picked her over me"
(not sure it was a choice)

Summer to Aadi:
"You've got a persecution complex"
(only because he thinks everyone's against him)

Kev to Ty:
"You're letting your daughters dictate your love life?"
(they might do a better job than Ty)

Ty to Isla after discovering she was still married:
"I wouldn't have spent the last hour flirting with you over my samosas"
 (or currying your favour)

Sleazy businessman to Kelly:
"We're just two consenting adults"
(Only one actually)

Daniel to Daisy:
"There's no reason that we couldn't be Weatherfield's star-crossed lovers"
(I can think of a few)

Well, patient punters, so ends another week. Sorry for the delay and many thanks for stopping by.
