Coronation Street Catch Up: the riddled with wet rot edition

your one-stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

(to the tune of 'Away in a Manger')

"Away on a moped, no job and he's screwed
Our poor Uncle Stephen is delivering food
His car, it got taken
He's booking a cruise
He killed Jenny's boyfriend
who got wise to Steve's ruse"

So, there's good news and bad news.

The good news is that Steve Macdonald is back (from Spain). The bad news? He broke his ankle (pa rum pum pum pum). More bad news. He lied to Tracy about how it happened (a foam party, it seems).

Bad news for Tim. Sally gave away his beloved jacket and Steve bought it at a charity shop. Sally bought Tim a replacement jacket but he doesn't like it.

Todd tried to help get Laurence and Sean back together but his good intentions result in nothing but suspicion and distrust as people assume he was trying to take advantage of Sean's ex-boyfriend.

Stephen is getting deeper and deeper into trouble. He is supposed to be booking a cruise for Audrey and Sam but is now trying to convince Nick and Gail that Audrey is not capable of making the trip and is back to her boozing ways. Stevie is also under the gun from his ex-wife. Seems he owes her more money. She has Steve's car repossessed and desperate Stephen takes a food delivery job as a last resort. It doesn't go well.

Maria is all set to open a refugee help centre but Griff isn't having it. His latest gambit is an impromptu protest in front of the community centre and a threatening gesture to Maria.

Summer has a miscarriage and declines to share the news with Mike and Esther who have already paid money for her baby and are expecting her to move in with them. Not only that, but Aaron's Dad has fallen off the wagon (after coming out of rehab paid for with money Summer got from Esther and Mike).

Over at the Bistro, Nick decides to accept Harvey's offer of cash in order to pay for repairs to the Bistro which has a severe wet rot problem.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Audrey to Stephen:
"You're very special"
(yes, but not in a good way)

Sally to Tim re: his replacement jacket:
"It's country chic, Tim"
(to the manor - not born)

Tracy to Ken re: Martha:
"Is she still living on that tugboat?"
(no, she's on dry land now)

Leanne to Debbie re: the bistro:
"The place is riddled with wet rot"
(...and the Bistro also needs some repairs)

Sean to Mary and Todd after playing football:
"I definitely heard something ping in my right buttock"
(ouch, that can be quite Messi)

Well, fellow Coronation Street Christmas carolers, so ends another week. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great week and holiday and a Merry Christmas (Happy Christmas in the UK). Cheers!
