your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...
That number "2" t-shirt really isn't working for Peter Barlow (I guess the number "1" shirt is in the wash?)
Just as Carla is getting super chummy with Rufus' widow, Lou, Carla learns that Lou is upset because her late husband's watch is missing. Funny story. It was Petey who actually found Rufus' watch in his taxi. Then, since Peter needed cash to fund Carla's rehab, he pawned the watch. End of story... except now Peter confesses to Carla that he is responsible for the missing watch.
Carla is furious and tells Peter to retrieve the expensive watch. Alas, no dice. Seems the pawnbroker sold it. Worse still, Peter foolishly confides in Stephen who promptly shares the watch info with Lou. Lou is incensed with Carla and Peter and resolves to end the Nippersnapper contract with Underworld as soon as possible.
Meanwhile Stephen steals an incriminating tie clip (with an inscription from his ex-wife) from Lou's hotel room and seems to have succeeded in getting rid of a damning piece of evidence until, in a surprise turn of events, Lou confronts him.
If that wasn't enough to make Stephen sweat, he also learns that Carla has decided she won't sell her share of the factory after all and will, instead, return to run the business.
More drama as Ty's Mum, Cassie, attends a Little Big Shotz show at the Bistro where Ty is watching his daughters perform. Cassie, a drug addict, has been getting some rehab support from her Mum, Evelyn, and insists she is now clean and announces to Tyrone that she's his Mum.
Over at the Rovers, it looks like the pub might get a reprieve thanks to Gemma who makes a last-ditch plea to brewery honcho Henry Newton. Despite receiving a punch in the gob courtesy of Chesney, Henry agrees to save the Rovers if Gemma will become his personal assistant. After some initial reservations, Gemma accepts and it now looks like Newton and Ridley will buy the pub and keep Jenny on as manager.
New Ruby makes an impressive debut as she stars in the Little Big Shotz performance and covers a Lizzo song. Hope isn't pleased about losing the staring role but turns out to be surprisingly supportive.
Lauren gets a job at Roy's caf. Things seem to be going okay but Lauren is upset by the fact that Max doesn't want a romantic relationship. She leaves the Platt house and winds up at the caf. Roy offers Lauren a meal and a bed for the night and Lauren assumes (wrongly, of course) that Roy wants something sordid in return. She returns to Max's house and is embarrassed when Shona reveals what happened.
Ed and Ronnie conclude a successful project and celebrate by getting a skinful. They decide to become permanent business partners (once they stop drinking).
Elsewhere Ryan continues to hide away in his room and inject himself with steroids.
