Coronation Street Catch Up: the baked beans and tuna edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Yikes! Adam was badly injured when he was struck by a speeding car. The driver was aiming at Sarah and Bethany but Adam pushed them out of harm's way and took the fall. The result? Adam suffered some broken ribs, a broken arm and a concussion.

Fortunately his hair was uninjured.

All this after the Scottish solicitor decided not to pursue an appeal for convicted killer and cellphone addict, Harvey. You will recall that Harv is serving a 25-year sentence for killing Natasha (Sam's Mum). Adam was supposed to be getting Harv's sentence appealed and, in return, Harvey was going to get rid of Damon.

However, Adam had a change of heart and scotched (so to speak) the appeal. Harv was not pleased and is now aiming to put the kibosh on Sarah and Bethany - unless Damon agrees to do a heist (Harv needs the dosh to pay for a new appeal... or maybe his cellphone bill).

Elsewhere, good news! Fiz is back but the Dobbs house is now overrun with family members and it seems that either Evelyn or Cassie has to go (I vote for Cassie) but Ty and Fiz decide to let the two sweat it out a bit before making a decision.

Fiz has resumed her job at Underworld. After her stint as a supervisor in another factory, she has some ideas for change, however Carla is not interested.

More good news. Ryan is back and looks pretty good. Seems things didn't pan out in Scotland with Crystal but no worries 'cause Daisy is pleased to see him and, before you can say "legover", they are a couple and Ryan is working at the Rovers.

That other couple (Bethany and Daniel) are having their ups and downs after Bethany's Pulitzer prize-losing exposé prompts Daisy to complain to Bethany's editor.  After Bethany is almost the victim of Harv's hit and run driver, Daniel gives Adam a piece of his mind.

Things seem to be happening in the case of Liam's bullying problem. After Liam reveals to Maria and Gary that he was threatened with a zombie knife by thug (and eyeliner expert) Mason, the search begins for the weapon and Dylan winds up getting caught with the knife in his posession. He was set up by Mason but it now looks like Dylan will be charged (and Mason might escape justice).

Elsewhere, Tommy Orpington is apparently moving to Spain.  Steve is pleased but also searching for a new football team to support.

And, finally, it seems that Eliza's Dad (Dom) may be back in Weatherfield as Yasmeen reports to Stu that she thinks she spotted him.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Tim to Steve:
"You've got blue eyes - like the ocean"
(get a room)

Sean to Maria re: Mason:
"He's the puppet master"
(like an evil Jim Henson)

Daniel grovels to Bethany for forgiveness:
"I'm an idiot...foolish pig... daft weasel"
(go on...)

Alya to Dee Dee re: Adam
"Adam these days is like a bear with a sore head"
(not to mention his hair)

Ken offers Steve some thoughts about an alternative to Weathy County:
"Aren't there two fairly big football teams based in Manchester?"
(Now that you mention it...)

Ryan summarizes his cooking efforts to Daisy:
"Baked beans and tuna are not a good combo"
(I'll mention it to Jamie Oliver)

Evelyn doubts that Cassie knows the difference between the microwave and washing machine:
"I hope you haven't put the smalls on defrost"
(or the spagbol on delicate cycle)

***
Well, Adam admirers, so ends another week. Sorry to see the celtic hearthrob in Weatherfield General Hospital but I guess he's the architect of his own downfall. Now it falls to Damon to solve the Harvey problem by pulling off a robbery for his step brother. I doubt that will end well. Thanks for spending some time here at the Hip and have a great week!
