Coronation Street Catch Up: the posh biscuits edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Lauren has disappeared and there's blood on the curtains of her flat. The police suspect foul play.

Number one suspect? Daniel Osborne.

Number two suspect? Roy Cropper.

Who's next? Sam? Aled? Craig?

Seems the Weatherfield police (led by D.S. Swain and her sidekick, Craig) are muddling their way through an investigation of Lauren's disappearance. After a thorough search of her flat, they find traces of blood and they are also questioning persons of interest (POI). Roy is the first POI as he cleaned Lauren's flat (at the request of Evelyn, who had sublet the flat to Lauren and is now on the hook for cleaning charges and back rent).

Then Max (who holds a grudge against Daniel) tells the police that Daniel might be a POI as he was giving Lauren tutoring lessons for free (suspicious?) The coppers question Roy and then Daniel.

In other cock-ups, Stu is discovered to be the reason that Dom left Eliza and took off to be with his other family in Germany. Eliza finally learns the truth about how Stu paid Dom to leave the country and she is upset. With the help of Hope, she tracks down her Dad in a local hotel and begs him to take her to Germany with him. Dom cannot and Eliza is left to stew... with Stu.

Adam wants Dee Dee to forgive him for threatening to blackmail her and wants her to remain part of his stellar legal team (slogan: "Broke the law? Get help from a guy who broke his arm"). Dee Dee reluctantly agrees - but only if she is made partner.

Meanwhile Sean's attempts to convince Dylan to plead not guilty fail as Dylan insists on taking full responsibility in the atrocious bullying campaign that led Liam to contemplate suicide.

Damon demands a piece of the action for his involvement in a robbery organized by Harvey. Harvey is not keen but will think about it.

Over at Chesney's, it's the same old song. Ches and Gemma have no money but rebuff Glam Gran Linda's offer to pay for Joseph's schooling at the elite Oakhill private school (illustrious alumni include Rosie Webster who graduated, Magna Cum Instagram).

The new twosome of Tracy and Tommy O. seem to win over Amy thanks to Tommy's shrewd comments about Amy's challenges and his Weathy County charm.

Simon seems nicer and determined to get his life on track. A resentful Nick shows up in court to support Si who gets a light sentence (community service) from the judge after his auto accident. However Nick still seems to be in a perpetual snit-based mood and isn't keen on planning a wedding with Leanne.

Fiz is gradually easing back into family life with Hope and Ruby thanks to Evelyn's help.

And now for a very few lines from the week that was:

David's number one business question to Maria:
"Where are the posh biscuits?"
(probably at the posh salon)

Stu to Yasmeen after Eliza discovers the truth about her missing Dad:
"It's all my fault"
(no-one's arguing)

Dee Dee wants to know what's with Sean and Adam's sudden mea culpas:
"Someone started a self flagellation society?"
(now that's an interesting story line!)

Max to D.C Swain re: Daniel:
"I think he's the secret boyfriend"
(think again, Sherlock)

***
Well fellow Swain spotters, so ends another week. Let's hope Weatherfield's finest can find some actual credible suspects connected to the disappearance of Lauren and figure out what happened to her. Thanks for spending some time here at the Hip. Always a pleasure to have your company and I hope you have a great week!
