Coronation Street Catch Up: the Magnificent Weasel edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

I don't know about you but the funeral for Clayton's Dad brought a tear to my eye, what with the booze, the tattoos, the cops, the handcuffs, the Oasis songs. You just don't see memorial services like that every day.

Shona is determined to attend the service so she can see darling Clayton but Clayton slags her off (by calling her a slag) and Shona leaves in tears while Rev Billy looks on.

Still on the crime front, Carla is forced to reveal to Roy that he was sleepwalking and inadvertently set fire to the HMS Barlow. Roy is furious with Carla for not telling the truth and letting Abi take the blame. Then Roy does what you might expect and turns himself in to the police. The cops also interview Carla because of her attempt to interfere with a police inquiry.

No charges are laid but Peter insists that Roy take counselling to get to the root of his sleepwalking problem.

Amy has not told her parents that she had a termination and, as a result, Steve and Tracy are forging ahead with plans to adopt the baby and Steve has bought a house.

Gina is accused of stealing money collected by the factory girls for a party for Sally but she protests her innocence and now seems resigned to move to Newcastle.  In fact, she didn't steal the money; it was found by Kev who thought it was for him and Jack so they went on vacation.

Speaking of the factory, Gary tells Carla that she needs a new roof - which is a financial burden which Carla can't really afford.

Sinead is starting radiation therapy and concerned that Daniel is stressing himself out between working at the Bistro, staying at the hospital and studying for his MA.

David is planning to have a weasel in his new barbershop (not a live one).

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

David to Gail re: his barbershop centrepiece:
"Look at this magnificent weasel!"
(which one?)

Underworld makes a typo on their novelty knickers:
"Sexboob"
(um, it's supposed to be Sexbomb)

Peter to Carla re: Roy's arson activity:
"You put him in a pair of pajamas and he's lethal"
(the name's Cropper, Roy Cropper)

Roy to Carla:
"Are you still in love with Peter Barlow?"
(hmm. Tough question. Can I get back to you?)

Well, fellow Weatherfield watchers, so ends another week. One funeral, one police inquiry and one weasel. Just another week on the Street. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week!
