Coronation Street Catch Up: the every knicker tells a story edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Quick. Call Richard Branson and tell him to get rid of his airlines and other businesses because the future is packing. That's right. According to super-entrepreneur Nick Tilsley, making things is so passé. Putting those things into boxes is where it's at.

I know what you're thinking: why can't those same off shore workers who have the skills to make underwear also pack the underwear?  Who knows? All I can tell you is that Nick wants the Underworld workers to stop sewing knickers and start packing knickers. And he's willing to put master packer Kirk in a senior management role to lead the way.

Needless to say, Sally and the rest of the machinists are not thrilled at the prospect. They're threatening to go on strike.

Elsewhere, Daniel gets arrested for smashing up a pawn shop but Peter manages to talk the shop owner into dropping the charges. Daniel remains in a bad way mainly because of the stolen laptop computer with the videos of Sinead.

However, there's news on that front.

Gemma and Bernie break into Kel's house and find Daniel's laptop plus a whole bunch of photos of young boys (including Paul). The truth finally comes out about Kel and his sexual victimization of Paul. Bernie goes down to the cop shop and reports Kel. Kel is arrested and Paul tries to come to terms with this traumatic secret he's been keeping for so many years.

Seems that Michael Bailey had a baby with a former girlfriend who wanted nothing to do with Michael so he hasn't seen his daughter since she was born. That's changed now and he wants to be part of his daughter's life but that's down to ex-girlfriend Grace who is skeptical about Michael's commitment and is at odds with Aggie.

Roy is increasingly worried about his brother Richard who is in frail health and Richard's goth daughter isn't too keen on Roy. Evil Jade is up to no good as she pits Hope against Fiz and continues to manipulate the family.

And now a few lines from the week that was:

Bernie rejects an apology from Gemma and refuses to return to Ches' house:
"I'd rather sleep in the sewer"
(aka her last residence)

Michelle to Robert re:Vicky:
"I don't ever want to see that woman again"
(you'll have to be more specific)

Paul to Billy re: Bernie:
"She's about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike"
(smoking and riding can be hazardous to your health)

Sally tells her Underworld colleagues about the magic of stitiching knickers:
"We're not just making clothes, we're making dreams"
(more like nightmares, I would think)

Well, passionate punters, so ends another week. I hope we hear good news about Ken's health and I do hope Daniel can get it together for the sake of Bertie. As for lowlife Kel... well, the less said, the better. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week. Cheers!
