Coronation Street Catch Up: the Lady Mayoress of Crazy Town edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Let's start with the good news. Tim's first wife has agreed to a divorce.

On the other hand, when his second wife (Sally) eventually returns, she may also want a divorce. Either way, that old threadbare platitude "happy wife, happy life" will elude Timbo in the immediate future since wife #1 (Charlie) wants 5,000 pounds in exchange for the divorce, and she also snagged a job at the Rovers. Just wait till Sally comes back and wants a drink.

Elsewhere, the fire set by someone in Chesney's house fortunately caused no injuries. Everyone is safe but now Ches and Gemma are worried that the firebomber may return. At the same time Bernie has left town.

Bethany had a bad week. She thought she would get the Bistro manager job but that went to Alya. Then Daniel gave her short shrift when he got preoccupied with Bertie's illness. Speaking of which, it appears that Bertie has the measles because Daniel postponed the baby's vaccinations.

Abi seems to be enjoying herself with Reprehensible Ray.

Gary and Maria are still an item but Maria is not feeling well which is a little ominous given that she's pregnant.

Over at Ty and Fiz's it seems that the truth about Jade is now known and despite a harrowing few hours when Hope went missing, she was found by Jade and returned to Ty. Later on, Jade drops by and Fiz takes the opportunity to clock her on the head with a kitchen implement.

Jade doesn't press charges but, in exchange, wants to see Hope on an occasional basis. Meanwhile, Hope seems intent on creating more mayhem by plugging up the sink in the school washroom and causing a flood.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Charlie to Tim:
"I'd just forgotten what a nice bloke you are"
(so has Sally)

Evelyn's name for Jade:
"Lady Mayoress of Crazy Town"
(wasn't that Audrey's title when she was married to Alf?)

Abi tells Aggie that she changed into her mechanic clothes:
"I swapped my lipstick for a dipstick"
(fortunately Revlon makes both)

Charlie to Tim:
"Am I your dirty little secret, Timbo?"
(not so secret for too much longer)

Bernie brings a gift to Gemma and Ches:
"It's a Japanese fish balloon"
(she probably stole it from a Japanese fish)

Bethany muses about Ray:
"I can't help thinking he's a bit of a sleeze"
(that's like saying the Titanic was taking on a bit of water)

***
Well, Weatherfield Well wishers, so ends another week. The two wives of Tim the First continue to be a problem. I hope poor little Bertie is okay. I don't know about Daniel, sometimes he seems like his own worst enemy. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
