your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...
That Jacob is certainly a nasty piece of work.
Now that he's got Simon entangled in his drug dealing business, Jacob is brazenly intimidating Leanne and Carla, both of whom are only now realizing the extent of Simon's predicament.
Leanne tries to enlist Peter's help to deal with the situation, but Carla insists that Peter is in no condition to be upset by Simon's woes. Meanwhile, Jacob is showing us why he's Weatherfield's el Chapo (or should I say el Chippie) as he drags Simon deeper into his illegal activities.
Stress seems to be the theme of the week as Yasmeen suffers another panic attack caused, in part, by the mountain of debt which Ghastly Geoff incurred in her name. Tim tries to help by telling Yasmeen that he will give her everything that Geoff left to him in his will. Alya puts the community centre up for sale to help pay off the debts. All this only serves to exacerbate Yasmeen's stress and she winds up in hospital feeling like she is doomed by the enduring spectre of Geoff.
Jenny is also stressed, mostly by Johnny's continuing struggles in jail. First he stops taking his meds because he thinks his delusions will allow him to see Aidan. Then he gets attacked by his cellmate who thinks Johnny's dealing drugs. On top of all that, deceptive Daisy decides to set up Jenny on a date.
Nina isn't sure she wants to go full tilt in a relationship with Asha. Aadi tells Nina that she should be honest about her intentions. Paul seems to have found a place to stay as Daniel invites him to share his flat.
And it looks like Weatherfield's Beauty and the Beast story is continuing as Ty and Alina bond over spreadsheets and yoga. That Ty is quite the (downward) dog.
George wants to buy the community centre and turn it into a funeral parlour. I think he's dead wrong. Oh, and Sean is trying to find a place to store his pyramid scheme cosmetics (how about a dumpster?)
And now a few lines from the week that was:
Dev to Nina:"You look like a princess of the dead"
(flattery will get you everywhere)
Mary creates a gourmet veggie dish for Nina:
"Cauliflower Wellington"
Daisy to Jenny:
"It's time to take life by the scruff of the neck"
George to Eileen re: the community centre:
"That place would make a cracking funeral parlour"
(a grave mistake)
Jenny to Daisy:
"Don't wee on my chips and tell me it's vinegar"
Alina describes the sound of Romanian owls to Ty:
"Boo hoo hoo"
Carla explains to Jacob, her relationship to Simon:
"I'm his evil stepmother"
