your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...
Why didn't George just decide to drive the hearse in the first place?
Sorry, let's.. um..."back up" a bit. George is handling the funeral for Gail's deceased father. Sadly he has no chauffeur for the hearse and so Eileen offers the services of the glimmer twins (Steve and/or Tim). Both are predictably inept so Eileen has to step in at the last minute - except that she manages to back up over Gail's wreath (and, no, that's not a euphemism).
So George has no choice but to drive the hearse himself. Thus the never ending feud between Gail and Eileen continues with George in the middle.
Speaking of never ending, that Lucas fella continues to hang around trying to woo Carla. Under the guise of business, he offers Carla an alternative to life with Peter the Great. Carla insists that she loves Petey (who could resist his passion for jigsaw puzzles?) But Peter is suspicious of Carla's true feelings especially when she camps out at the pub with Jenny for a boozy gals' night and lies about it.
Poor Yasmeen is struggling to recover from her Geoff ordeal and it seems like the monster magician left a pile of debts - all in Yasmeen's name. The only solution that Alya can come up with is selling the community centre but Yasmeen is opposed. Yasmeen also doesn't want the pet chicken which Elaine bought her. Poor Emily Bronte.
Leanne continues to seek solace in anyone who claims to be able to contact Oliver in the afterlife. Her latest foray is a psychic who claims to be in contact with Oliver. Toyah is skeptical.
While all this is going on, Simon is getting deeper into trouble with sleaze ball Jacob and the drug dealing set. Instead of going for a nice bike ride with Sam, Simon is called away to help Jake the Snake terrorize a young drug dealing colleague who has been stealing. Unfortunately Sam is an unwitting witness to this spectacle.
Nina and Asha continue their relationship as Dev tries in vain to be the hip, supportive Dad. Sadly, no one's getting jiggy with his cool Dad routine.
Johnny's in jail still trying to conjure up a vision of Aidan. Ronnie and Aggie don't seem to get along very well which could be due to the fact that Ronnie's influence seems to result in Edison drinking too much,
And now for some lines from the week that was
Mary to Asha and Nina:"Hello you lovely lesbians!"
George describes Eileen's hair:
"A lovely cloud of pasta"
Ronnie to Edison re: Aggie:
"What's going on with you and the Iron Lady?"
Mary to Eileen:
Steve gives a brain-teaser gift to Peter:
"Impossipuzzle"
Jenny tells Carla she could never love Jon Hamm:
"I couldn't fall for a fella with a meaty surname"
