Coronation Street Catch Up: the "don't bleed on the upholstery" edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Some people use Google, some use Safari, I prefer Voggle (the official search engine of Weatherfield).

Seems that Joel is also using Voggle to procure a drug to induce labour which he intends to use on Lauren. Joel has convinced Lauren to stay in his old flat (he's moving in with Dee Dee) so he can keep an eye on her. Lauren only agrees because she has nowhere else to go and because Joel has agreed to help her go to Ireland with her baby (Joel is the Dad BTW) and start a new life.

In other news, Toyah has received confirmation that she has ovarian cancer and must have an operation as soon as possible. While Nick and Leanne bicker over Altovalent, Toyah insists that she just wants to deal with her health crisis alone. However Nick shows up at the hospital anyway and Toyah is grateful. A nice embrace ensues which is photographed by some reprobate (probably from Altovalent).

Nick is incensed and gate crashes an Altovalent Meet-and-Greet so he can 'download' a punch into Rowan's face. Now that's what I call negativity.

All this after Toyah discovers that Rowan is actually a guy named Luke who has served time in prison. When Leanne confronts Luke..er Rowan.. he admits that it's all true but says that he's longer that guy.

Over at Ches and Gemma's, it's the same old story. They're broke. They're struggling. And now they're facing eviction. Something odd is noticed by Summer as she sees Kit with a real estate agent getting a viewing of Ches & Gemma's house - apparently with an intention to buy.

Over at Billy and Paul's place, Paul manages to corral his feuding family and convince them to stop fighting. It seems to work. That's good news. However, the good news is tempered by the fact that Paul can no longer use the stair lift to access the flat so, unless they find another place, Paul will be confined to the flat as his condition worsens.

Looks like Mason the Bully has resurfaced after spending time in jail. Stu finds him living rough on the street so he gives him a meal and some clothes. However Sean and Dylan are horrified to see Mason snacking on some aubergine at Speed Dal. The return of Mason is a shocking and unwelcome development for Dylan and Liam.

While having a heart-to-heart with Jack, Debbie discovers that he's being harassed by other kids about the deep fake videos of Abi that have been surfacing on the internet (Voggle?) At the same time, it seems that Kev and Abi are not getting along that well since she returned from her visit with the twins.

And now for some lines from the week that was:

David's unique (and politically incorrect) way of asking Nick about Leanne's involvement with Altovalent:
"Is Leanne still mental?"
(that's so inappropriate on so many levels)

David again re: Leanne and her AI generated version of Oliver:
"Still having her little chats with CP30?"
(Yes, but again, inappropriate)

Debbie to Kev and Abi re: her new chef:
"I've had my eye on him for ages ever since I sampled his crackers"
(does Ronnie know?)

Rowan offers to help Leanne:
"Get rid of the static"
(That will happen once you leave)

Debbie wants Jack to help her publicize her new menu on social media:
"I was hoping you might tick tack it for me"
(or put in on Instagrump)

Debbie after Rowan gets punched by Nick:
"Don't bleed on the upholstery. I just had it done"
(Read the sign: 'All bleeding must be done outside the hotel premises')

Rowan to Leanne:
"Do we need to schedule a coding?"
(I'll have my cult call your cult)

Rowan re: his real name:
"That name, I can't even say it anymore"
(It's Luke. Pretty easy to say once you get the hang of it)

Mason to Yasmeen and Stu:
"I'm not totally evil"
(Just 99% evil)

Well, fellow cobbleros, so ends another week. Joel is certainly keeping busy juggling his lies to Dee Dee (and everyone else) while keeping Lauren under his thumb. How does he ever fit work into his busy schedule? I guess we'll find out more next week. Thanks for stopping by. As always, lovely to have your company. Have a great week!
