your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...
File this under 'scenes we wished we'd seen'...
(Daisy having a scan of her baby at the hospital while Daniel watches)
Ultrasound technician: "Ah! There's the baby. Strong heartbeat. Everything looks good except..."
Daniel: "What is it? What's wrong?"
Ultrasound tech: "Oh nothing. It's just that the baby is very long. The father must be very tall."
Alas, this was not what happened.
Instead, Daisy continues to deceive Daniel and lets him believe that the baby is Danny Jr. when, in fact, it's Kit Jr. Jenny thinks this charade is a good idea especially when Daniel offers to use Bertie's trust fund money to pay Daisy and Jenny's debt to Carla.
Daisy makes a few feeble attempts to tell Daniel the truth but eventually comes round to Jenny's viewpoint and the deception continues. However Daisy tells Daniel that he should replace Jenny's name on the deed to the Rovers with his own name (to protect his interests). Jenny is none to please that she will be relegated from owner to chief barmaid.
Over at Ken's house, the jig is up.
The wily nonagenarian figures out that Cassie has been using his credit card for herself and, worse, drugging him to feel tired and unwell. Ken berates Cassie and tells her to leave. She does, whereupon, Ken promptly has a heart attack and is rushed to hospital.
The miracle workers at Weatherfield General Hospital immediately admit Ken into the Coronation Street Wing ("give him the bed that Carla just left"), give him a stent and before you can say 'co-pay', he's awake and telling his family about Cassie's deceit.
The Barlows call the police and Tracy confronts Cassie. There is the obligatory on-the-street, in public, catfight with Tracy (wo)man-handling Cassie by the hair before the coppers show up to take Cassie down to the station. Cassie is later released on bail and makes an appearance at Ken's hospital room. Ken wants to know what she has to say for herself.
Elsewhere Julie is in town and finally gets to spend some time with her half sister, Eileen. However Julie refuses to tell Eileen that she has cancer (sarcoma) despite pleas from George and Todd.
Kev is recovering nicely from his testicle surgery. However he is not chuffed about how Ronnie seems to be playing the 'Big I Am' while Kev feels emasculated. There's more bad news for Kev. He gets the results of his scan and it seems that the cancer has spread and he has lymphoma which means he must have chemotherapy. Tim tries to cheer up Kev but it backfires.
So that's two Coronation Street people who have cancer. Let's hope that's as far as it goes.
Over at the courthouse, Dylan's appearance before a judge is not going well and he gets sentenced to six months in a youth correctional facility (the same place where Daniel works as a teacher). Sean is devastated and Dylan is steeling himself to cope with life in juvie.
In other news, Carla tells Bobby to sling his hook but then feels bad. David is continuing his life of crime with Andy (buddy from jail) in an effort to pay back Harvey.
And now for a few lines from the week that was:
Mary re: Brian:
"He's the emperor of Weatherfield recycling"
(All hail!)
"Let's pour some sand on the fire"
(more like an ember)
Debbie to Ronnie who's trying to take some of Kev's full English:
"You leave my brother's sausage alone"
(and don't touch his breakfast either)
Cassie explains to Fiz why she stole from Ken:
"I just wanted to make a bit on the side"
(you mean Steve?)
Tracy upon seeing Steve and Cassie cuddling:
"They do say a dog returns to its vomit"
(certainly makes me want to hurl)
Julie to Mary:
"I sell pet supplements"
(you know, like the 'One-a Dog' multi-vitamin)

Well, fellow Ken Kompatriots, so ends another week. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week.
