Coronation Street Catch Up: the Witches of Eastwick edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Advice to Todd: get a new fitness watch. I believe Apple has a nice model and it comes preloaded with the 'Stop-Tracking-Me-You-Sick-Creep' app.

Yes, it seems that although Todd and Theo have broken up, Twisted Theo continues to track Todd's movements through Todd's fitness watch. As a result, Theo is able to show up wherever Todd is and continues to mess with Todd's head. Glenda (bless her heart) has fixed Todd up with her mate, while Theo tries flirting with Sean but Sean isn't fooled by Theo's clumsy attempt to make Todd jealous.

But the main story of the week is Malevolent Megan whose grooming activity has finally been revealed. Sam has known about the inappropriate relationship between Megan and Will for a while but Megan has threatened young Sam and told him to keep quiet. Sam is tormented by Megan's threats and resorts to taking ADHD medicine. Sam subsequently faints in the Street and is hospitalized (fortunately there's a spare bed in the Coronation Street Wing of Weathy General).

It is Leanne who finally manages to elicit the truth from Sam and, to her credit, she believes him right away. Then Leanne, Toyah and Eva summon Megan to the Rovers backroom and Megan does her best Am-dram performance (complete with crocodile tears) to plead her innocence.

Fortunately, none of the sisters believe her.

The sisters then visit the police station to file a complaint and a detective is assigned to the case. No prizes for guessing who gets the job. It's Kit (maybe all the other detectives are on vacation). Kit subsequently shows up at Weatherfield High and arrests Megan.

There's just one small problem.
So far, there's no actual proof of Megan's activities and both Megan and Will are sticking to the story that it was Will who had a crush on Megan. I guess we'll see what Kit can find out.

Still at the Rovers, Ollie is being very tight-lipped about something. Lauren knows Ollie has a problem but he won't tell her what it is.

(BTW, I don't want to be a nagging Nellie, but maybe Ben should cut down on the mega-drinking since he has heart issues).

Alya is being harassed by her former employer (Rich) because Adam plans to take on one of Rich's dissatisfied clients. Rich and Adam make a deal: Adam won't take on any of Rich's clients and Rich will stop threatening Alya.  Sounds good except Adam subsequently discovers that his company's email system has been compromised and private emails have been published on the Internet.

Back at Weatherfield General (down the hall from Sam and a few floors down from baby Harper), Mal is recovering nicely after his heart attack and able to talk about his assault. Let's see, which detective should be assigned to this case?  Oh, it's Kit! Quelle surprise! Kit visits Mal in hospital and Mal is very cagey when talking about the person who attacked him. It sounds like he may know that it was Kit but, so far, Mal isn't saying.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Eva to Ben after his night of imbibing:
"Old men should be banned from drinking"
(that would bankrupt the alcohol industry)

Maggie to Megan re: Will:
"You just focus on my son"
(that's the problem)

Eva doesn't believe Megan's sob story:
"Not a flaming word"
(Good for Eva)

Mal to Kit:
"Must have been one of those gym neanderthals"
(this one was upright (and tall))

Megan to Will re: Eva, Leanne and Toyah:
"It's going to take more than the Witches of Eastwick to scare me"
(how about an arrest and a night in jail?)

Adam to Alya:
"We've been hacked"
(let's hope they don't publish any photos of Adam's old hairdos)

 ***
Well fellow supporters of Sam, so ends another week. Will Megan be charged for grooming a minor or will the charges be dropped due to lack of evidence? I guess we'll find out. Thanks for stopping by and spending time at the Hip. Have a great week and hopefully we'll be treated to some Spring-like weather in the week ahead.
