Coronation Street Catch-Up: The Inexplicable Edition

a look back at last week on Canada's Coronation Street

Call it 'love at first sighting'. UFO enthusiasts Brendan and Mary meet across a crowded Kabin and share a sensual poetic moment while Norris and Rita look on at the inexplicable. Or, should I say The Inexplicable, one of the leading publications dedicated to UFOs and other paranormal phenomena (Kirk? - ed).

Meanwhile, it's all kicking off for the Nazirs. Alya confesses her one-off to Gary. Gary goes wacko (told you). Zeedan goes ballistic (also told you). And the fact that the one-off was Jason doesn't help either. The inevitable showdown ensues with Zee and J-Boy slogging it out.

Meanwhile Ken's cup runneth over. First he's courting Audrey and then Cathy's cougar-like sister, Nessa spies Ken and makes a play for him.  Liz has plumbing problems by which I mean the ladies lavs in the Rovers are on the blink. Will she call in Tony? After all, he is quite familiar with the ladies in the Rovers.

Eva is shocked to hear about Jason and Alya. Kylie is shocked by David's psycho demeanour (get used to it - ed). The two gal pals decide this calls for a skinful so they head out for a night on the town. David is nervous.

And now for some lines from the week that was:

Mary explains her activity preferences:
"I'd rather have ten minutes on my own with The Inexplicable"
(I thought she was talking about Norris)

Mary explains her strange mood:
"an acute case of ennui"
(I hear they have a vaccine for that)

Sharif mentions one of his favourite jokes:
"How do you get to Albert Hall?"
(Punch Jason in the face?)

Live model Yasmine is happy to oblige the art students:
"Any position is fine"
(Shades of 50 Shades)

Norris is skeptical of  The Inexplicable:
"Last month's cover featured a psychic cat"
(gives one paws for thought)

Audrey to Cathy at art class:
"I suppose hairdressing is like art"
(That's why Van Gogh painted 'Starry Highlights')

Mary to Brendan:
"I can't tell you what a thrill it is to meet the editor of The Inexplicable"
(yes, it is hard to explain)

***

Well,  Corrie companions, so ends another week. Kev might be moving to larger premises and Sophie seems to be helping out. I do think he needs to hire another mechanic to handle the workload and Ty is going to be preoccupied for a while with his family. Too bad about Alya and Gary. Just when Gary looked like he was going up in the world, he takes off. Hopefully he won't do anything rash. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

  1. I thought a cougar attacks younger prey. Is there a cut off age of either person (or minimum size of bank account?) for a younger woman going after an older man? We need more precise definitions of these terms!

    1. Thanks very much for the comment. I guess I should have said 'Senior Cougar'. Either way, Nessa seems to be a force to be reckoned with and it's about time they livened up Audrey's Salon. Thanks again and all the best!

  2. I love that the coronation street writers have finally given Sophie a good story line with some potential for seeing her in more scenes with comedic moments.

    1. I agree. I would love to see Sophie and Kev work together building his garage empire. After so much heartache and grief, it would be nice to see Sophie in some different story lines. Thanks for the comment and all the best!
