Coronation Street Catch Up: the Massive Backside edition

your one-stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

So all is revealed about Jan. Turns out he is a good guy after all (sorry about impugning the ponytail last week). Seb finally shares his info with the police and they swoop down on the human trafficking ring and liberate the young women including Alina.

The downside is that Jan must now go into hiding so it looks like Eileen will be 'sans man', yet again. Alina visits Seb briefly but it seems that they too must part given the ongoing danger of the trafficking network.

Elsewhere, killer-turned-entrepreneur Gary Windass engineers a plan to get the contract to rebuild the factory using a convincing Gareth Southgate lookalike (actually a loan shark customer) as a front-man pretending to be a big business investor.  Old Nicky falls for the scheme and, desperate to keep Underworld afloat, agrees to the deal. Sarah is appalled.

Emma's Dad is very sick in hospital and this leads to Emma discovering that her Dad is not her biological father. This is later confirmed by her Mom (currently in Australia) whose photo is recognized by Audrey as a former Street resident, Fiona.

Robert is still trying to convince Vicki not to go back to Belfast with her ex (Jed). This culminates in Jed somewhat predictably punching Robert.

Looks like Dev has returned from India but his daughter is not happy. Seems Asha didn't have a good time. And Dev gets another 'dosa' bad news when he discovers that Evelyn has been running a mini-bookie operation at the corner shop.

Roy injures his back and Carla fills in with a chance to showcase her cooking skills (burnt toast a specialty). Good thing that an old customer is offering her a job in the rag trade.

Toyah tells Claudia the truth about her flat (i.e. the adjacent juvy facility has been cancelled) and then Claudia and Ken have a chat about her  moving in with Kenneth.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Mary sees Gary trying to retrieve cash from a table that she bought:
"Take your hands out of my drawers"
(and keep them where I can see them)

Kev rants about Kim Kardashian:
"Having a massive backside is not a talent"
(bummer)

Sally invites Carla to join her:
"I would be honored to have you in my hot tub Mrs. Connor"
(Please RSVP at your earliest convenience)

Claudia's advice to Toyah re: Imran who tried to swindle her:
"Dump him"
(stat)

Nikolai to Eileen after she walks into the Nail Bar:
"You're not going anywhere"
(unless you have a mani pedi first)

Nick to Sarah re: the factory workers ownership:
"You see. Communism doesn't work"
(So much for Das Kapital)

Well, fellow corriephiles, so ends another week. Hope you're enjoying the final weeks of summer. Thanks for stopping by and have  a great week!
