Coronation Street Catch Up: the Ken Barlow not too fondo Marie Kondo edition

your one-stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Oh Jan! How can he be one of the bad guys? Look at those eyes, that face, that ponytail (well, maybe not the ponytail).

Anyway, it looks like Jan is mixed up in that human trafficking situation at the nail bar. The intrepid Seb finally discovers the sordid scheme and Jan is spotted with Rachel the Ruthless.

Seb wants to help Alina escape but his note to Alina (which provides the number of a helpline) is intercepted by Rachel and Seb is tricked into coming to the nail bar, only to be conked on the head by the even more ruthless Nikolai.

Kudos to Gary! His furniture/loan shark business is doing quite well and he's splashing the cash. Meanwhile Claudia is selling her flat and Imran is taking advantage by offering a low price, despite the fact that the planned juvie rehab centre near the flats has been cancelled.

Claudia is also hard at work doing a Marie Kondo number on all Ken's old stuff. Ken is less than enthusiastic. If it doesn't spark joy, then it goes to the charity shop (I don't think Tracy sparks joy... just saying).

Vicki now has two men fighting over her. There's Jed (the fibre optic cable specialist and Dad of Tyler) who has appeared and wants Vicki to come back to Northern Ireland with him. Then there's Robert (chef and Dad of Vicki's baby to be) who wants Vicki to stay and be part of his two-timing family.

Carla is upset at the fact that Peter has organized a neighbourhood watch to make sure she doesn't go doolally again. As a result Peter moves out of Roy's and back to Ken's (that probably doesn't spark joy either).

Jenny has plans to turn the Rovers into a B&B/Pub but Kate is not amused as she feels she's being pushed out. Evelyn is busy marking down groceries at Dev's shop and Mary is not amused especially when she discovers that Evelyn seems to be buying much of the discounted merchandise.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Vicki complains about Robert's lack of commitment:
"I'm good enough to carry your baby but not to be your girlfriend"
(I think you've summed it up pretty well)

Toyah to Imran after they share some afternoon delight:
"I could get used to these little lunchtime distractions"
(if, by lunchtime distractions, you mean sex)

Evelyn thinks Mary is overreacting to her discount food items:
"We're talking about pilchards not the FTSE"
(the pilchards are more volatile)

Claudia to Ken:
"I have no desire to be the next Mrs. Barlow"
(It's mostly an honorific title anyway)

Vicki to Robert:
"So I'm just a baby machine?"
(yes, but as baby machines go, you're one of his favourites)

***
Well, Corrie caballeros, so ends another week. I hope Seb is OK. He really took a blow to the man bun in the last episode. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
