Coronation Street Catch Up: the Game of Thornes edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

It's like old home week on Coronation Street.

There's Wendy Crozier returning as Abi's foster coach. Then there's Steven with his transatlantic accent returning from Milan/Canada and, last but not least, there's Spider Nugent (hasn't changed a jot).

But first, trolling takes centre stage as Councillor Maria gets bullied online for her attempt to improve recycling. She has to deal with a sexist union rep, a garbage strike and online pix of her head on a nude woman's body. Not very pleasant for her, or son Liam or trigger-tempered Gary.

Finally the strike is settled but Maria's online nightmare is far from over, oh and Gary tries to throttle a mouthy union rep.

Meanwhile, over at the Coronation Street Wing of Weathy Hospital, Audrey is recovering from her motorbike accident (the bike was stationary) however she is not eager to see Gail and instead gushes over favorite son, Steven. Stevie decides he wants to hang around Weatherfield and is spotted flirting with Elaine. More to come I would think.

Peter is like an irrational dog with a bone when it comes to his nemesis, Dr. Thorne. Ol' Pete is determined to make the supercilious surgeon pay for his express liver transplant. Armed with a damning tape recording, Peter thinks Thorne will pay for his sins but, alas, Thorne tricks Simon into handing over the tape recorder and Petey is livid. How livid? Well, how about smashing Thorne's car (rental, phew!) with a golf club (a three iron I believe).

Ho hum. Then it's back to work for Pete who picks up a fare at the cop shop. It's Nicky (yes, Daniel's Nicky). Strangely Peter doesn't seem to know her.

What would you do if you were out on bail on a murder charge? How about hijacking a city garbage truck? That seems to be Toyah's cure for what ails her. And, oh yes, she meets old boyfriend Spider during the protest. It's like eHarmony for eco warriors.

Tim seems to be on some kind of mission to advise Ed about how to make nice with Aggie. Ed doesn't appreciate the interference.

Over at Fiz's, it looks like Mimi and dog Coco are going to be staying Chez Fiz until the wedding. Evelyn is not thrilled. Cerberus even less so.

Sean breaks up with Frank after George reveals Frank's bullying ways. However Frank manages to convince Sean that it's a mistake and they get back together.

Summer and her new boyfriend are planning a trip to Barcelona but it looks like museums will be the main item of interest as Summer is not comfortable with beach frolicking.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Peter's surgeon comes up with a name for his surgical betting:
"Game of Thornes"
(I don't get it)

Todd has a plan to expose George's bully:
"Operation Frank-incense"
(still don't get it)

Tim explains to Ed how he knows so much about Aggie:
"I have this special sense about women"
(special and wrong)

Evelyn instructs Cerberus to be nice to Mimi's dog:
"Don't eat Coco"
(stick to Purina)

Gary at Liam's Star Trek themed party:
"We need a family selfie before the Klingons arrive"
(they could be beaming down any second)

So sorry for late posting. Being away from Blanche HQ means trying to binge watch the episodes whenever I get the chance. Hope to back at home base in a week or so. Thanks for your patience.
Have a great week.
