Coronation Street Catch Up: the chocolate teapot edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

She said "yes"...and then she said "no."

That just about sums up Fiz's wedding day with Phill.

After saying, "I do" at the altar, Fiz has a change of heart and decides that she really loves Ty (even though he had a legover and more with Alina for a brief time). But that's all water under the canal bridge now and it looks like Fiz and Ty are back together again. But they're keeping it a secret for now because Fiz wants an annulment ASAP.

Good news, right?

Well, not exactly. Seems that Phill still thinks he can make things work with Fiz and enlists Ty's help to win her back. Awkward! Phill tries everything. A Mariachi band at the bistro, a "Love Actually" rip off with an unfortunate shuffled deck of large posters. All to no avail.

Since Phill has already paid for his honeymoon (no refunds, a la Air Canada), he asks Ty to come along. Think of it as a "Mannymoon" or "HoneyMan". Either way it looks like Ty has got himself into a bind.

The Audrey legacy battle moves into high gear as Audrey is fed up with David and Sarah's money grubbing and decides to put Stephen in charge of a trust fund to administer her estate. David is not amused.

Despite Sally's support, Tim is discouraged by his setbacks in dealing with his impotence problem and resorts to online pornography. This despite Sally's Sting-inspired suggestion of tantric sex.

Maria is freaked out by a tracking device that is placed in her handbag and even more scared of online trolls. Kelly continues on her mission of giving back her father's ill-gotten cash to people he ripped off. Gary is not happy about this.

Sean's son, Dylan, arrives in town. Should be interesting, especially when he meets Frank.

Steve has a nice scaffolding in front of his house but no evidence of the ripoff roof contractors to whom he paid lots of money. Aggie tells Ed to fix Steve's roof but, pissed off at Steve's needling, Ed takes off to do a job for Debbie and receives an electric shock.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

David to Ken after Ken spills the beans on David's plan to get Audrey certified:
"I've gone right off you Ken"
(I'm sure the feeling's mutual)

Phill to Fiz:
"The shortest marriage in history"
(try to remember the good times)

Sally to Tim:
"I think you should try it again and do it the Sting way"
(with a lute?)

David to Sarah re: Stephen:
"He's Scar"
(and you would be... the "Lyin' King"?)

Audrey to Stephen:
"Gail's about as useful as a chocolate teapot"
(with a unique hairdo)

Well, Corrie Compadres, so ends another week. Once again apologies for the late post. It's tough to keep up to date on the show when you're travelling around.  Fair warning: I'll be away next week so the update will return on August 20th. Till then have a couple of great weeks. Cheers!
