Coronation Street Catch Up: the Tracy meets her Portaloo edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Another baby-selling story line?

Not that there's anything wrong with that (actually, there is), it's just that the Point-of-Sale baby story has been repeated many times. Most recently, Grace offered to leave her baby with the Baileys for a cash payment. And similar transactions go all the way back to the Malletts (remember Judy & Gary?) who tried to buy a baby from a pregnant teen (Zoe).

And that's just the tip of the baby-selling iceberg.

This time it's Summer who comes up with the not-so-brilliant idea to sell her baby to an eager couple (Esther & Mike) in exchange for 10,000 pounds which she wants in order to send Aaron's alcoholic father to rehab.

Aaron is not so keen on the idea but the plan moves ahead. Meanwhile Summer is trying to keep the whole plan a secret from the tri-Dads. Billy, Paul and Todd (just call them BiPodd). They think that Summer has had an abortion but are now getting suspicious (throwing up in the sink was a clue).

Elsewhere, Fiz is shocked to see excerpts from the new John Stape book appear in the Weatherfield Gazette. Their lawyer, Adam, succeeds in getting the series of articles stopped but it seems the book will still be available (in hardcover, one assumes).

Fiz is worried about how this might affect Hope even though it seems Hope has been sharing background info (which has appeared in the published excerpts) with her online friend, Mad Dog (first or last name?)  After Nick forbids Sam from being friends with Hope, Ty goes round to Nick's place and clocks Nick in the face. But who wrote the book?

Over at racist HQ, it seems that ringleader Griff is grooming Max to be a young, right-wing thug. Activities so far seem to consist mostly of drinking beer out of cans and reading fantasy fiction.

Lawrence breaks up with Sean after discovering Sean snooping on his phone. This after Sean discovers that Lawrence was once married (to a woman).

Up on the roof of Ken's house, not much is happening and that's the problem. That, and the fact that there are way too many people living in the house. Daniel, Daisy and Bertie move in following a goofy housing mix up. Amy and Jacob are back. And, of course there's Tracy, Steve and Ken.

More scaffolding goes up at Ken's house but the work is far from finished and the contractor seems to be pulling the wool over Daniel's eyes. Oh, and there's now a portable toilet in front of the house (as the toilet inside the house is broken). The neighbours (the Baileys) are not amused.

Eileen is back to her old self after being informed that her epiphany was really an epiphony.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Peter to Spider:
"Griff's a moron"
(no argument here)

Peter warns David about Griff's influence on Max:
"Just watch Max when he's around Griff"
(can't miss him, he's wearing a bowler hat and a Hitler mustache)

Aggie to Tracy
"Why's there a portable lavatory outside my house?"
 (just lucky I guess)

Aaron to Summer re: her plan to sell her baby:
"I don't feel lucky. I feel grubby"
(exactly)

Tracy's voicemail to Steve:
"P.S., Steve, I hate you"
(what a couple of lovebirds!)

Amy, on her return home to Chez Barlow:
"Overcrowded and we have to wee in the street"

(It's just like a bad AirBnB)

Well, Bistro buddies, so ends another week. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week.
