your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...
"You don't know what I'm capable of..." (late blog posts? bad jokes?)
That seven-word sentence is rapidly becoming Stephen's catch phrase. The latest person to incur the wrath of Stevie is Tim. Tim comes to his Mom's rescue after Elaine finally realizes that Stephen is a liar (bingo!)
All this happens after Elaine sees an old photo of Stephen and his ex-wife (Gabrielle). Elaine realizes that this is the same woman whom Stephen said was the head of world famous (and fictitious) consultants, Seagull (slogan: we're for the birds).
Elaine quickly summons Tim who promptly comes to her flat and busts into Stephen's locked file box. They then discover the fraudulent life insurance policy which Stephen has taken out. Tim tells Elaine to get out and go to his house. After she leaves, Stephen comes in and catches Tim (in flagrante snoopo) and they grapple with each other. Stephen takes a bump on the noggin and Tim leaves. TBC, one would think...
Elsewhere the mini-drama (one might say contrived) which saw Toyah kidnapped by someone named Maggie with a grudge against Spider comes to a quick end with Spider locating and freeing Toyah. Spider takes a bullet, but is wearing a bullet-proof vest so no harm done. A more serious consequence of the incident is the fact that Spider refuses to give up his undercover police work (as requested by Toyah). So it looks like splitsville for the couple.
Adam takes it upon himself to gather the Hatfields and McCoys (er, I mean Platts & Barlows) together at the Rovers to make the big announcement about Sarah's pregnancy. Sarah is not pleased and so Adam tries to reel in the announcement but, as they say, the cat's kinda out of the bag. Still no clue about that pesky DNA test and the identity of the real father although Adam thinks it's him.
Dev is chuffed when a business associate (Darren) hires Aadi to be his assistant (after all, someone has to make the photocopies) but Dev's real interest is in getting Aadi to convince Darren to allow Dev to invest all his money in Darren's big venture. Sounds, how you say, fishy.
Brian can't seem to get rid of Isabella. His latest attempt to ship the pejorative prima donna back to Italy falls flat when Isabella tearfully tells Bri that she is lonely (I wonder why...)
Max gets the green light from David and Shona to let Lauren stay at the house for a while and she gets the news that her Dad has been sentenced to 18 years in jail for his activities with Griff.
And now for a few lines from the week that was:
Dev imparts sales wisdom to Aadi:"ASS (A Smile Sells)"
(Better Use Mature Synonyms (BUMS)
Beth to Kirk (as they reconcile):
"I miss being in bed with you too"
Elaine to Stephen:
"Stephen, are you happy?"
