Coronation Street Catch Up: the Young Funeral Director of the Year edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Hello and welcome to the Young Funeral Director of the Year Award, brought to you by "The Walking Dead" and "The Body Shop". This year's nominees are...

Yes, it's all very exciting as Todd is nominated for this prestigious honour, although there is...um.. "stiff" competition for the award. George is very nervous as he tries to groom a less-than-thrilled Todd to capture the top honour for rising (not in the vampire sense) undertakers.

Meanwhile, over at Weatherfield General, Stephen is recovering nicely after his brain injury and leaves the hospital planning to return home. In the meantime, Elaine has broken off the engagement and left town. This leaves Tim to throw Stephen's belongings out the window of Elaine and Stephen's flat. Not the kind of homecoming that Stevie was expecting...

Stephen has no choice but to take up residence on the couch at Sarah and Adam's place. However things take an awkward turn when Sarah discovers that Stephen seems to have her paternity test results letter among his belongings. What gives?

Adam has problems of his own as he experiences another panic attack.

Aadi is heading for trouble as he continues his dangerous liaison with Courtney, the voluptuous wife of Darren. In fact, Amy catches Aadi in flagrante delicto and subsequently has a few choice words for the brazen Courtney. Dev is blissfully unaware of his son's dalliance but very keen to get into business with Darren so encourages Aadi to.. um.. keep up the good work as Darren's gopher.

Billy is upset when Paul asks for help with an assisted dying request. More so because Billy thought Paul was going to propose. Paul then withdraws the assisted dying request and does propose. Billy is delighted and the couple start looking for a venue for the ceremony.

Mary steps up and gets rid of Isabella by pretending to be Brian's lover. It's all a ruse of course since Mary apparently doesn't have feelings for Brian, although Brian is carrying a torch for Mary.

Audrey is celebrating her 83rd birthday but doesn't want a fuss.

Ryan returns to Carla and Peter's place after a very, very short visit with his Mum. Hmm, seems a little odd.

And now for a few lines from the week that was:

Amy to Aadi re: his illicit affair with Courtney:
"You don't want your balls to end up in a bunker"
(are we still talking about golf?)

Sarah finds her letter in Stephen's things:
"This is my paternity results letter"
(Stephen likes to keep informed about his family)

Brian to Mary:
"Mediocrity runs through me like a stick of rock"
(they sell it at Blackpool)

Elaine to Stephen:
"I'm worth more to you dead"
(yes, but don't take it personally)

Stephen tells Elaine that he lied to police to help Tim avoid jail for assault (or worse):
"I've just saved his bacon"
(Canadian bacon, I assume)

Stephen to Elaine after she cancels the wedding:
"Is this because of Kung Fu Jerry?"
(I'm sure Tai Chi had something to do with it)

Aadi to Amy after he's caught in flagrante delicto with Courtney:
"It's exactly what it looks like"
(and it looks bad)

Tim to Elaine re: Tai Chi Gerry:
"How did it go with the Pacemaker?"
(he means Gerry, as in Gerry and the Pacemakers)

Billy to Paul:
"I am not going to help you kill yourself"
(could you at least stop wearing tight pants?)

***
Well fellow Kebab Kolleagues, so ends another week. One wonders why Ryan's visit with his Mum was so short. Maybe we don't know the whole story? And just how did Sarah's results letter end up in Stephen's grimy hands? I guess all will be revealed. Thanks so much for the pleasure of your company. Have a great week.
