Coronation Street Catch Up: the glint in my Father's trousers edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Maybe it's time for Scotty to beam up.

The mysterious B and B guest, Scott, who seems to know Johnny from way back seems to have taken matters into his own hands after those two unlovable no-goodniks unsuccessfully tried to blackmail Carla.

Rather than fork over a grand, Carla simply announced to the punters in the Rovers a summary of the sordid events which took place in the squat with Dingle and Dongle (I mean Jordan and Chelsea). With no secret to hold over Carla, the two were roughly escorted from the premises. However it has now come to light that someone gave the two misfits a good thrashing. All signs seem to point to Scott.

Meanwhile Leanne frets constantly over Oliver but reluctantly agrees to a family outing to the zoo, thanks in large part to Tracy who seems to have undergone some kind of Grinch-like heart surgery (by which I mean she now appears to have one).

Speaking of animal attraction, Daniel decides to pursue his relationship with Nicky the escort. A tad pricey for a single Dad living in a one-bedroom flat - especially if you add  in the cost of babysitting.

Shona makes her return to Coronation Street and promptly tries to snog her social services case worker - in front of David (although to be fair, he's quite a bit better looking than Davey). Shona is staying with Roy during her transition but David seems to be hanging around hoping that he'll see signs of the old Shona (well, she did steal a wallet, so I guess that's encouraging?)

Of course, the big news, especially for those of Rita's vintage, is the 75th anniversary of VE Day. There are decorations and celebrations in the Street but sadly many of the young'uns don't seem to know about the historic day.

Alya is getting the distinct feeling that Sally doesn't believe Geoff's story but meanwhile Faye decides to move in with Geoff as a show of support. The whole Geoff/Yasmeen situation is definitely putting a strain on Tim and Sally's marriage.

Now for some lines from the week that was:

Steve to Tracy after she reports inappropriate animal behaviour:
"Have you been goosed by a goat?"
(I'm sure the goat was just kidding around)

David thinks Shona might learn to like him:
"Maybe I might grow on you like mold?"
(that's usually how it works with David)

Adam to Nicky:
"Are you a solicitor?"
(yes and her clients usually lose their briefs)

Rita to Carla re: VE Day:
"It was like a great wave of relief all across the country because it was finally over"
(Amen)

Evelyn assures Daniel that she was far too young to remember VE Day
"I was just a glint in my father's trousers"
(and he was wearing underwear- so no worries)

***

Well, patient punters, so ends another week. Thanks, as always, for stopping by. Stay cool, stay safe and stay hydrated (with the liquid of your choice). Have a great week!
