If they had a dating app for steam engine enthusiasts, would it be called "Tender"?
Just wondering. Anyhoo, even though they didn't meet on Tinder, Arthur and Roy seem to have discovered a strong mutual attraction powered by a common love of the golden age of steam. One might even say, "well spotted" (that's quite enough - ed). This much to the distinct irritation of Evelyn whom I suspect simply views trains as a means of getting from Point A to Point B (are you listening, British Rail?)
Meanwhile the main story of the week is the diagnosis of young Oliver's medical condition. Seems there is no cure and it's a terminal illness. Understandably, Steve and Leanne are devastated and the news has a ripple effect throughout the family.
Nick feels like Leanne is pushing him (and everyone else) away. Emma is upset. Simon is upset, even more so by the fact that Leanne seems to have forgotten that he is also her son. Toyah wants to put plans for fostering a child on hold even though Imran is still keen.
Elsewhere, Fiz thinks her relationship with Ty is in the doldrums and concludes that they're becoming just like Jack and Vera (which prompts a spot-on impression of Jack from Ty).
Shona continues her difficult return to Street life by basically jumping David's bones which surprises and shocks Davey. Back at the Rovers, Jenny returns unexpectedly, but without Johnny. Hmm.
And now for a few lines from the week that was (slim pickings I'm afraid):
Fiz complains to Ty:
"Cerberus has a better social life than us"
(a dog's life to be precise)
Imran's advice to Toyah before she attends a protest:
"Don't get arrested"
Imran's advice to Toyah before she attends a protest:
"Don't get arrested"
(words to live by)
Nick to Simon re: Oliver
"We've just had some bad news"
Nick to Simon re: Oliver
"We've just had some bad news"
(very sad for the family)
Fiz to Ty:
"We're turning into Jack and Vera"
Fiz to Ty:
"We're turning into Jack and Vera"
(cue the pigeons)
Arthur salutes a photo of a vintage steam engine (not Evelyn)
"Goodbye old girl"
Arthur salutes a photo of a vintage steam engine (not Evelyn)
"Goodbye old girl"
(careful, Arthur!)

Well, faithful followers, so ends another week. Can we endure yet another heartbreaking story line? Not sure about that - especially when a young child is involved. Oh well, let's see what next week brings. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week and all the best!
