Coronation Street Catch Up: the dressing up as Captain Kirk edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Could the tide be turning against Gruesome Geoff?

Let's hope so. After Alya talks to Sally, Sal decides to visit Yasmeen in prison (Sally's recent alma mater) and what she hears from Yasmeen about Geoff's behaviour shocks her. Of course, Geoff is furious when he finds out and has a rather loud argument with Sal after which he tries to arrange a prison visit himself only to be turned down by the authorities.

He's so angry that he launches a plate of sausages across the room.

Roy tags along with Arthur and Evelyn on their date without realizing that he is de trop.

Elsewhere Leanne is hurting because of Oliver's terminal illness and lashing out at all those around her including Toyah. This is doubly painful for Toyah as she and Imran have just turned down an opportunity to become foster parents out of consideration for Leanne's feelings. Nick finally talks some sense into Leanne and she starts mending fences by convincing Simon to come back home.

Jenny seems unwilling to reveal the whole story behind her sudden return home and Johnny's extended stay in France.

Looks like Michael will not be getting back together with his ex. Despite his best efforts, Grace decides that she doesn't see a future with him.

Chesney and Gemma crash Ty and Fiz's date night as both couples seek to rekindle their relationships. Will a romantic dinner for two be enough for a party of four?

Now for a few lines from the week that was:

Arthur confesses to Evelyn:
"I did once go dressed as Captain Kirk to a fancy dress do"
(he boldly went where no man has gone before)

Cathy to Brian re: Geoff
"There's something not right about that man"
(there's a lot of things not right)

Yasmeen to Sally:
"He thinks it's a man's job to look after the money and the woman's job to look after the house"
(a philosophy no doubt derived from prehistoric caveman drawings)

Geoff tries to convince Sally that Yasmeen is playing mind games:
"It's classic controlling behaviour"
(....by Geoff)

Tim to Sally:
"I know me Dad. He's a good man"
(sadly, you don't know him and he's not good)

***
Well, cobble colleagues, so ends another week. The Geoff/Yasmeen saga is starting to get a lot more interesting as smug Geoff seems to be a little shaken by Sally's visit to Yasmeen in prison. Let's see what happens next week. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
