Coronation Street Catch Up: the kiwi, hummus and salami edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

It was a moment so horrific and nauseating that I can barely bring myself to talk about it.

No, I'm not talking about Geoff (good guess though). I'm referring to that sandwich which Aggie brought Michael at work as a peace offering because of her meddling in his relationship with Grace.

The sandwich? Kiwi, hummus and salami. Oh the humanity!

Still, Aggie does manage to make amends with Grace which leads to Michael and Grace getting back together again - and spoiler (your appetite) alert, Kirk did eat the sandwich - so I guess that worked out.

Elsewhere, Laura (egged on by Adam) puts the squeeze on Gary for more money from Rick (deceased but no one knows except Gary). Gary, in turn, decides to put the squeeze on Sarah and bumps up the rent on Underworld.

Leanne seems to be a little better at handling the devastating news about Oliver and both she and Nick encourage Imran and Toyah to go ahead with their fostering plans.

On the Geoff front, seems the monster magician and despicable DJ wants to drop the charges against Yasmeen, ostensibly because he wants to forgive and forget and support his troubled wife. Alya thinks it's because Geoff wants to reassert his control over Yasmeen who is currently in jail and beyond the reach of his evil clutches and psycho head games.

Anyway, bottom line is the coppers tell Geoff that he can't drop the charges.

At the Rovers, things take a bit of a sinister turn as Peter learns that it was Scott who beat up the two lowlifes who threatened Carla and ol' Scotty seems to think Peter is deficient for not standing up for his missus. No wonder Johnny stayed in France. Maybe it's time for Scott to leave the Rovers B and B.

Abi learns that the twins (her kids whom she gave up for adoption when she was in a bad way) are immigrating with their adoptive parents to Australia (not Canada? Pity). Seb wants to see the twins and say goodbye but Abi can't face them. To be continued.

And now for some lines from the week that was:

Kirk to Carla and Nick as he searches for his meditative globes:
"You've not seen me balls have you?"
(too easy. Make up your own joke)

Tracy to Adam:
"I think education is waste of time"
(so how come Amy goes to school?)

Geoff on the phone to Yasmeen:
"I've got a proposition for you"
(Quick! Hang up!)

Geoff explains to the detective why he wants to drop the charges against Yasmeen:
"I miss my wife"
(you mean you miss terrorizing your wife)

***

Well, fellow Barm Cake Buddies, so ends another week. The Geoff/Yasmeen story seems to be moving along rather slowly and I think it will go on for some time yet. Looks like Carla might be coming back to Underworld in some capacity. Hmm. Thanks for spending some time here at the Hip. Always a pleasure to have your company. Have a great week and all the best!
