Coronation Street Catch Up: the rutting chimp man edition

your one stop update on what happened last week on Canada's Coronation Street...

Go Carla go!

Yes, our beloved femme fatale nasale, Carla, takes it upon herself to share a few home truths with libidinous lawyer Adam who shed his briefs (while preparing a brief ) for a quick "habeas corpus" with old "friend" Naomi.

This happens just after poor heartbroken Sarah pops by to reconcile with Adam only to barge in on the randy couple after they've had it off in Adam's office (by my count there have been more legovers in that legal office than at the Playboy mansion grotto).

But I digress.

Carla, of course, has her own legover issues (or lack thereof) due to her falling out with local James Dean stunt double, Peter Barlow. But it's nothing that a few flowers (family discount at Preston's Petals, 'natch) can't solve. Now it seems that Peter and Carla are back on track.

Not so rosy for Sarah, I'm afraid. Looks like there's no way back for her and Adam.

Elsewhere, there's high drama over at the Bailey's as Michael proposes to Grace only to discover later that baby Tianna is not her baby (or his) but actually the daughter of the couple for whom Grace works as a nanny. Holy Deception! Faced with the choice of running away to Spain with Grace (who is wanted by the coppers) or turning her in, Michael opts for the latter.

Enter Craig for his weekly cameo where he arrests someone and reads them their rights (but isn't he trim and slim?)

Meanwhile at Weatherfield General, things are getting more tense by the minute. Leanne and Steve are selling everything in sight to raise money for an experimental treatment by the renowned Dr. Schimdt of Germany - except that the Weathy General doctors have consulted with the German clinic and come to the conclusion that poor Oliver is not a candidate for their therapy. Leanne is incensed and believes the hospital is deceiving her. She still holds out hope.

One complication is that Nick's attention is diverted from Oliver to his own biological son whom he meets and wants to have a relationship with - however he hasn't shared that info with Leanne. Gail, as you might expect, learns about the secret son and is concerned and ready go into atomic mithering mode.

Speaking of mithering, Rev. Billy is concerned that Paul has volunteered for a support organization. Elsewhere, Daniel returns the money he stole from Ghastly Geoff. Yasmeen (still in prison awaiting trial) suspects that Geoffy is draining cash from Speed Daal.

Tim and Sally are planning a wedding but trying to keep it secret from Geoff. Eileen is back from Thailand. Welcome home!

And now a few lines from the week that was:

Sally to Tim:
"Don't forget to put your toothbrush on charge"
(I believe that's a euphemism for sex)

David reminds Gail of her history with Natasha:
"You chased her out of town with a pitchfork"
(Gail's favorite form of cardio exercise)

Carla queries Nina about her impromptu designs:
"Do you often doodle knickers without being asked?"
(depends on the knickers)

Old friend Naomi to Sarah & Adam:
"Who do you have to sleep with around here to get a glass?"
(That would be Adam)

Carla is outraged by Adam's treatment of Sarah:
"What are you? Some king of rutting chimp man who can't keep his pants up, or lurches around trying to get into everybody else's?"
(I'd say that just about sums it up)

Geoff gives Adam some odious advice:
"Don't let some tart ruin your life"
(don't let some monstrous half-baked magician give you advice)

Tracy to Leanne after telling her that she's selling the flower shop:
"See, I can be nice sometimes"
(yes, it makes me very nervous)

***
Well, fellow Corrie companeros, so ends another week. Looks like Nick is getting himself in a bit of a pickle and, now that Gail knows about his son, who knows what will happen?

On a side note, what's with that framed picture of a giant bug on the wall of the Bailey house and when will they get that staircase fixed? Just asking. Thanks so much for stopping by and spending some time at the Hip. I hope you have a great week.
