Coronation Street TGIF: the dry rot edition

please note this post makes reference to the Sept 20 episode on CBC

Well, it's been an emotional week on the Street as Hailey bravely faces the future and Roy struggles to help her. Many of us have shed a few tears during the week (a few? your keyboard was soaking wet! - ed). But we must soldier on, buoyed by the prospect of Detective Jason closing in on Killer Karl. And, of course, there are other issues on the Street like Audrey's dry rot. Oh well, onward with a few lines from last week.

Jason comments to Dev re: Karl's weasel qualities:
"Always comes up smelling of roses"
(but mostly cigarettes)

Karl threatens Craig in order to keep him quiet:
"Don't want you to lose another life do we?"
(thanks Uncle Karl, you're the best)

Roy to Anna regarding Hailey's broken mug.. and his life:
"Nothing will ever be the same"
(sadly)

Max has a candid assessment of Lily, his little sister:
"She's noisy and stinky and looks like a pig"
(er, sorry, which Platt are we talking about again?)

Craig's note, left after he runs away:
"Dear mom I've got to run away. Tell Dev I'm sorry"
(P.S. Karl's a killer)

Gloria is asked if she will give Stella away at the wedding:
"Do I have to dress up as a man?"
(I believe that's Karl's job)

Hailey to Fiz:
"I'm just determined to make the most of what I have left"
(You go girl)

Roy argues with Emily's beliefs:
"The God you worship doesn't exist"
(ouch)

Hailey insists that Roy learn to drive:
"Resistance is futile"
(The Woody awaits)

Hailey's mantra in the face of adversity:
"I refuse to be miserable"
(that's Norris' job anyway)

Well, dear Corrie Compatriots, so ends a rather sad week on the Street. Never mind, maybe Jason will finally solve the mystery of Karl. Maybe Audrey will be able to fix her house. Maybe Michelle and Peter will negotiate a truce.and maybe Nick will come out of his coma. Have a great weekend and thanks so much for stopping by. Cheers!

  1. I think that might be Stella, rather than Sylvia

  2. Whoops! You're right. Sorry about that and the correction is made. (I wish Sylvia would come back though). Cheers.
