Coronation Street TGIF: sisters are singing it for themselves edition

please note this post makes reference to the Nov 14 episode on CBC

Is it just me or does Liz look more and more like Stevie Nicks? And, no, I'm not just saying that because she was doing karaoke with Deirdre and Eileen and Sean. Not sure if it's good for business but isn't there a Newton and Ridley bylaw expressly forbidding the impromptu singing of "Sisters are doin' it for themselves" at their drinking establishments? Oh well, time to look at the memorable lines of the week.

David summarizes Tracy for Tina:
"I think Tracy's a pitbull"
(that's an insult to pitbulls)

Sally offers the hospitality of her home to Tim:
"My casa, Your casa"
(er, I think you'll have to explain to him what a 'casa' is)

Rita tells Tina the facts of life:
"Time to grow up Tina"
(Amen)

Tracy is instructed by Liz to order something in the Rovers:
"I'll have a glass of water"
(...in a dirty glass)

Audrey to Kylie regarding Nick's hopes for reuniting with Leanne:
"It's best to prepare for the worst"
(with Gail as a mother, he's had plenty of practice)

Deirdre to Tracy re: Rob:
"I think he's a self-centered snake"
(they have Hiss and Hers towels in the bathroom)

Beth confides in Sinead regarding her work habits:
"I'm not the best machinist on the floor"
(but a damn good skiver)

Rob's compliments rub Tracy the wrong way:
"You make me sound like a horse"
(just a bit)

Sinead and Chesney wonder what CEO means:
"Coleslaw Executive Officer"
(just don't get any business cards printed up until you check)

***

Well, fellow followers of Corrie, it looks like Nick and Leanne are back together. Faye's little friend is an evil demon. Chesney is moving up in the Kebab world. The Tina-Tracy feud simmers. Gail remains ultra-annoying. Some things don't change. Have a great week and thanks for stopping by. Cheers!
