Coronation Street TGIF: the radio-gaga edition

a look back at the week that was on Coronation Street in Canada

It's the aftermath of the minibus crash and everyone except Sinead is back on the Street. Steve finally confesses his depression to Michelle who wants to help him (exit Hamish).

Tony is now 50% owner of Tracy's tat shop and ownership seems to come with perks (nudge, nudge). But Todd may be suspicious. Sean and Billy seem to be getting along nicely. Eva is upset because Jason says they can't afford a house.

It's Tim's birthday. Roy gives Gary a job. Zeedan is not impressed (is he ever?). Meanwhile in Plattland, Kylie is still missing, David's worried about social services taking Max away and Michael's scheduled for open heart surgery.

Now for a few lines from the week that was:

Carla is not sympathetic after Michelle explains Steve's condition:
"We're all depressed after last night"
(well, everyone except Norris. He's quite perky)

Maddie summarizes Steve's post-crash activity:
"He sat on a rock and did nothing"
(actually, that's one of my best things)

Roy plans to teach a course at Yasmeen's centre as part of his community service:
"Making sticky toffee pudding from scratch is not as easy as it looks"
(it doesn't look easy)

Sean to Eileen bemoaning the fact that Billy doesn't seem to care for him:
"Jesus is the only man is his life"
(tough act to follow)

Norris to Steve at the Rovers:
"How's the guilty conscience?"
(Fine, thanks. How's yours?)

Eva tries to impress Jason with continental cuisine:
"That is what you call a frittata"
(are we still taking about the egg dish?)

Tim tells Sally about his ordeal at Craig's house:
"I got trapped inside number 5 with a rat"
(you mean you were locked inside with Todd?)

David tries to lure Kylie back by telling her Gail's dead:
"Something terrible's happened"
(Gail's keeping her current hairdo?)

Michelle proclaims Steve's condition to the Rovers crowd:
"If you must know he's got clinical depression"
(Could you shout a little louder? I think they are some people in the loo who didn't hear you)

Tracy barges in on Steve:
"When were you thinking of telling me you've gone radio gaga"
(and I believe that is the correct medical terminology)

Tim describes the rodent to Craig:
"The Steve McQueen of rats"
(you should have seen him in 'Bullit')

Michael tries to sort out Gail's tangled marital history
"So it's McIntyre Potter Hillman Tilsley Platt?"
(well, something like that...)

***
So, Corrie Colleagues, that wraps up another week on the Street. Sinead is still in hospital. Steve's still depressed. Kylie's still missing. Gary can't cook. Oh well, let's see what happens next week, shall we? In the meantime, thanks for stopping by and have a great week. Cheers!

  1. Actually, I think the expression is "radio gaga", from the song by Queen

    1. Yeah. That makes sense. Gosh I better clean the wax out of my ears. Mind you I kind of like the sound of rage-o-gaga...
thanks for setting me straight. I'm suitably embarrased. Cheers.
