Coronation Street TGIF: the talking stick edition

a look back at the week that was on Canada's Coronation Street

Faye's excruciating pregnancy story continues and no one knows except Craig (and perhaps Darryl the pet rat). Owen's attractive ex-wife tells Izzy and Katy the truth about Owen and how he prevented her from seeing the girls.

Dev's departure to Mumbai creates a three-way (not that kind of three-way) conflict between Julie, Mary and Sophie culminating in the use of a talking stick (don't ask). Eva continues to secretly look for a house with Tony's help while Todd the Terrible tries to suggest to Jason that there may be some hanky panky going on.

Meanwhile in Plattland, Gail and Audrey decide to give Callum a piece of their mind but the idea backfires. Steve makes a meal for Michelle and Michelle tries to eat it. And, surprise, surprise, Kev's online dating leads him to a date with Jenny Bradley (fun fact: daughter of a guy who tried to kill Rita). Kev's up for it but Jenny's not sure.

How about a few lines from the week that was:

Emily complains to Michelle about Norris's cooking:
"He's a real dictator in the kitchen"
(one might say a 'Linguine Mussolini')

Mary draws Dev a picture:
"In times of crisis I find that a Venn diagram is very useful"
(I may as well throw away my Swiss army knife)

Steve evaluates his cooking for Michelle:
"This is what you call al dente"
(Don't try to bite it or you'll need al dentist)

Sally tells Gail why she doesn't want to go to jail:
"I'd have to do all sorts to get a decent roll of toilet paper"
(maybe Tim can smuggle in a few sheets)

David can't believe that Gail told Sally about Callum:
"You told the biggest gob on the street"
(nothing personal)

David's instructions to Nick as Gail blocks the car:
"Run her over"
(you had me at 'run')

Gail is not afraid of confronting Callum:
"When you've lived with a serial killer, confronting a drug dealer is a walk in the park"
(you'll have to be more specific, which serial killer are you referring to?)

Callum's reaction  to Gail:
"You dried up old loon"
(hey, I'll have you know she uses moisturizer)

Gail to Callum:
"You repulse me"
(don't you mean, 'complete me'?)

David to Gail after learning about her run-in with Callum:
"Have you been watching Breaking Bad?"
(Only the first season)

Well, Corrie Colleagues, that's it for this week's edition. Have a great week and thanks for stopping by. Cheers!
