Coronation Street TGIF: the Norwegian fishing trawler edition

a look back at last week on Canada's Coronation Street

Good news! Just got off the phone with Travis Investments Ltd. and they've agreed to buy 50% of Blanche's Polish Hip Enterprises plc. Nice fella. Said he was a friend of Tony.

Yes, the leveraged buyout drama continues on Corrie. Tony's plan to get hold of 100% of the Rovers comes undone when Carla decides she wants a piece of the action. Oh! Oh! Tracy's not going to like this, especially after she went to all the trouble of taking a photo of the pub.

Elsewhere, David has his day in court, goes off on one and gets lambasted by Judge Judy. Result? Callum gets custody of Max for two nights a week. Looks like Miley's Dad (Jackson) is coming forward to take responsibility for the baby. Anna and Sally seem to be getting along now that they've signed a Memorandum of Understanding about wine glass storage.

Michelle prepares for her wedding day. Steve cancels on his stag and Lloyd winds up on a Norwegian fishing trawler bound for Norway. Zeedan gets fired by Tony because Simon is hanging around the job site. Leanne gets Zeedan his back pay by smashing a few bits of junk in Tracy's tat emporium.

Now for a few lines from the week that was:

Tracy refuses pay Zeedan's back pay to Leanne:
"I'm not giving that old prozzie a penny."
(hey, hey, she's not old)

Liz to Tony after receiving a compliment:
"Ken Barlow said I looked like a painting"
(abstract, I'm guessing)

Tracy to Tony again:
"Why did you give that ex-hooker the money?"
(isn't that a bit like asking, 'why did the chicken cross the road'?)

Tim applauds the involvement of Jackson and his Mom:
"It takes a village to raise a child"
(Faye would like to know which village 'cause she needs the help)

Callum's lawyer recites all of David's wacko history:
"David Platt is a disturbed young man"
(yes, and by the way, the Pope's Catholic)

Michelle tells Carla that she had a successful legover:
"Steve's got his mojo back"
(quick, call the Weatherfield Gazette)

Gay man in pub to Jason:
"So what are you doing in a gay bar?"
 (just looking, thanks)

Michelle to Carla re: wedding problems:
"The Best Man's gone whale watching"
(sounds fishy to me)

Liz divulges her plans to Andrea for selling the Rovers :
"I'm swapping this place for an appartment in Spain"
(but won't you miss el hotpot?}

***

Well, Corriephiles, another week goes by and the fate of the Rovers narrowly escapes the hands of Tracy. What will happen next? What will Tracy do with that bottle of champagne? How will Ken heat his chicken dish? Will Lloyd learn the Norwegian phrase for 'catch of the day'? Only time will tell. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week. Cheers!
