Coronation Street Catch-Up: the defiling my mother edition

a look back at last week on Canada's Coronation Street

Looks like it's High Noon for the Platts as the simmering conflict between Callum and David (and let's not forget Jason) is coming to a head.

Callum wants 20,000 pounds but David only has 10 P - or something like that. Anyway tous les Platts are on high alert since Callum seems to get out of jail faster than you can say 'Dog and Gun'.

Elsewhere Eva is back from France (or was it Spain?) after her engagement ended due to her fiance playing away (apparently that's une deal breaker). Lloyd is back together with the pregnant Andrea and they are moving to Jersey where the stroppy cows are actual cows.  Steve is upset because Lloyd is his second true love (Rover is first and Michelle is third).

It's Roy's birthday and Cathy wants to tell Roy about her true feelings. It's not going well so far.

Andy is jealous of Steff's old flame and Luke is planning to resume his fiery passion (for car racing, not Maria). And now for a few lines from last week:

Andrea aims for reconciliation with Lloyd:
"I hurt your pride and broke your heart"
(and lied about being married and stole his hit single)

David explains to Gail what happened to Audrey:
"She had some heavies in the salon"
(and he doesn't mean plus sized customers)

Gail to Callum:
"You're scum and that's all you'll ever be"
(at least he's consistent)

Eva tells Jason about her cheating fiance
"I thought the engagement was exclusive"
(but he didn't)

Steve tells Rover about new biscuit restrictions:
"No more Bourbons or Garibaldi"
(and only one Hobnob per day)

Alex's prank birthday card to Roy:
"I may not be Fred Flintstone but I can certainly make your Bedrock"
(the relationship between Roy and Cathy could be reduced to [Barney] rubble)

Norris gives Roy an electric pencil sharpener for his birthday:
"I know how tedious it is sharpening everything by hand"
(what else is there besides pencils?)

Gail explains her rapid method for calling the police:
"I've got them on speed dial"
(because pushing three numbers is so tedious)

Steve re: Lloyd:
"He has finished defiling my mother..."
(Steady on. It's just Lloyd and Liz... not Game of Thrones)

***
Well, fellow Street urchins, another week of Callum-ny ends and it's all ready to kick off. Don't forget the special one hour live (well, it was live once) episode of Corrie coming up on Tuesday October 13th. Check your local listings for the time in your area. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
