Coronation Street Catch-Up: the poor choices edition

a look back at last week on Canada's Coronation Street

FOR RENT: Granny flat. Renovated. Trendy concrete floor. Close to all amenities (especially police). All mod cons plus one dead con. Immediate occupancy.

Exit Callum. During the live one hour episode, Callum gets clobbered by Kylie while manhandling Sarah.  Result? death by tool. Another DIY fatality. Quick thinking (well, quick anyway - ed) by David results in a hasty cover up. Callum gets stored in the floor drain in Gail's flat.

No problem but then, in a rare display of productivity, the Jason crew fills the drain with cement. End of. Callum. Except now people are looking for Callum: his mum, his pals and the coppers. And don't forget that his burned out car (courtesy of Tony and Jason) has been found. Questions are being asked.

And Signora Gail? She's in Italy. Si, Italy. Elsewhere Cathy and Roy continue their tenuous courting process.

Sally is wearing her 'outside' housecoat and wallowing in self pity after Tim takes off due her ill advised snog with Kevin. Yasmine is seething over the fact that Tracy started the fire that killed Kal. She wants to take matters into her own hands.

Last but not least: Exit Lloyd. No, he's not in Gail's floor. He's going to Jersey with Andrea but not before a party and an extended bromance with Steve.

And now for some lines from the week that was:

Callum's Mom talks about her son:
"Over the years he's made some poor choices"
(investing in tech stocks?)

David to Kylie:
"I've never disposed of a body before"
(you'll soon get the hang of it)

Roy explains his email writing style to Carla:
"As a rule I eschew exclamation marks"
(Really!)

Lloyd to everyone at his farewell party:
"Stay out of trouble"
(Too late for David and Kylie)

Gail doesn't want David to squash a spider in her flat:
"It's bad luck to kill a living creature"
(you probably should have mentioned that earlier)

Sally to Sophie:
"I'm going to win back my man"
(which one?)

David tells Sarah that Callum's body has been dumped in the canal:
"He's sleeping with the supermarket trolleys"
(sounds cozy)

David to Kylie:
"Who'd have thought moving a body would be so stressful"
(must be because it's a major crime)

Carla tells Roy that he's a quality man:
"You make that dodgy cardigan look pretty good "
(sexist)

Gail assures the policeman that the drain is not worth investigating:
"Nothing down there but the odd rat"
(I guess that's technically true)

Anna's description of Sally:
"Holier than thou windbag"
(you had me at 'windbag')

***
Well, that was quite a week. Once again the Platts are involved in a major crime and the cover up is well underway. Remember that Coronation Street will not be seen at its regular time on Monday due to something called an election (news to me). I think it's been bumped back to 4:30 pm in the East but please check your local listings for the correct time in your area. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week. Cheers!
