Coronation Street Catch-Up: the disapproving Sonny and Cher edition

a look back at last week on Canada's Coronation Street

A name for Tracy's new flower shop? How about Perennial Killer? The Bad Seedling? Pistil Packing Mama's? Lily of the Alley? (that's enough - ed),

Other developments? Johnny is dealing with fallout from the revelation that he's Carla's father. Aidan doesn't want to know. Kate is more sympathetic. Kevin and Anna finally connect for a lip lock in the caf. Ty and Fiz are at the hospital for Hope's operation and Ty's stressed and losing it.

Roy saves Cathy from a letter-burning fire following the revelation that Nessa had it off with Cathy's late hubby. Nick's Bistro gets a boffo review in the paper but the news is tempered by the fact that Carla doesn't want to marry Nick. And, last but not least, Mary has it off with Brendan at Dev's house. The truth may be out there... but Brendan's sock is still in there.

And now for a few lines:

Mary's description of Norris and Rita:
"A sort of disapproving Sonny and Cher"
(which one's Cher?)

Erica to Dev:
"I bet my shepherd's pie is better than your shepherd's pie"
(I don't think this has anything to do with shepherds or pies)

Sally to Aidan, Carla and Kate in the absence of Johnny:
"I'm ready to step up and don the mantle of leadership"
(Sorry Sal, the mantle doesn't come in your size or colour)

Sophie recalls Maddy's favourite band:
"The oblong heroes"
(I guess it's no longer hip to be square)

Brendan to Mary:
"When it comes to passion, I'm all man"
(just ask his wife)

Carla to Robert re:their one night stand:
"I'm not about to bin everything for a quickie with the local chef"
(how about two quickies with the local chef?)

Brendan declares his love:
"Dear Mary you have filled me up"
(he's certainly full of it)

A man's sock is found at Dev's and Mary claims it's hers:
"Socks are genderless"
(like Jared Leto or Grace Jones... or Norris)

Carla to Nick:
"I can't marry you"
(but it's nothing personal)

Well, comrades of the cobbles, that's it for the week. Nice to see Roy in a relationship and I'm looking forward to seeing Sally's reaction when she discovers that Kevin and Anna are seeing each other. Should be priceless.  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week. Cheers!
