Coronation Street Catch-Up: the Spineless Marshmallow edition

a look back at last week on Canada's Coronation Street

It's enough to drive a pollster crazy.  Norris is polling strongly with the sought-after 'fuss budget 60-90 year old' voters. But Sally is gaining traction with the 'younger, self-righteous, pretentious' demographic. It's too close to call.

As the council election continues, there are other developments. The dastardly Phelan has dispatched the hapless Michael. First, ol' Mikey fell down the stairs, then he had a heart episode and now he's on crutches. He knows Phelan is no-good but Eileen is charmed by Phelan's manly musk.

HR problems abound at Audrey's Salon. First, that lad with the hair who was not suitable and now Gemma, noted Dog and Gun patron, friend of Callum and would-be hair stylist. That didn't last either.

On the Marta file, it looks like Billy and Eva are out of luck. The smarmy O'Driscolls say she's gone back to Poland. But has she?  However, Zeedan seems to be very much in luck as he gets it on with the ravishing Rana.

And now for some lines from the week that was:

Jenny's election prediction to Norris:
"Looks like a Sally landslide"
(or backslide. we don't know yet)

Gemma asks Kylie for a free manicure:
"I've seen chimpanzees with better nails than me"
(and not just nails either)

Tim describes Sally:
"Nag, tyrant, killjoy"
(and those are her good points)

Norris to Steff re: the Bistro:
"A greasy spoon with delusions of grandeur"
(there's goes the greasy spoon vote)

Sally tells Norris why she's going to win the election:
"I even have a lesbian daughter"
(every candidate should have at least one)

David to Audrey re: Josh the new hairdresser:
"He's not got both oars in the water"
(perhaps he's canoeing?)

Phelan to Michael:
"Go back to being a spineless marshmallow"
(he's way ahead of you)

Beth wants to know the truth about Tim's brush with the law:
"Are you a jailbird or not?"
(depends what you mean by 'jail' and 'bird')

Rita to Norris regarding Sally's candidacy:
"The one thing Sally has is stickability"
(she certainly sticks in my craw)

Well, Easter Enjoyers of Corrie, so ends another week. Election fever continues on the Street as Norris and Sally fight for a council seat. The dastardly Phelan seems to have his legs well and truly under Eileen's table and it's only a matter of time before... well, you get the idea.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a lovely weekend and thanks so much for stopping by and reading the blog. Cheers!
