Coronation Street Catch Up: the gay Argentinian hairdresser edition

a look back at last week on Canada's Coronation Street.

It's Harry's christening but it doesn't seem to be working.  Even after Rev Billy's blessing, the baby is still crying so Sarah hands him to Nick (bad idea after what Nick did with his cellphone) and runs off.

Maria has returned to the country. Did she have anything to declare? Yes, a gay Argentinian husband named Pablo. I wonder if there was an import duty?Anyway, the new hubby rubs Luke the wrong way. Maria is forced to dress up as a cat to make amends. Now they're engaged.

Elswhere, Ty is collecting scrap metal to sell as a business sideline. Nick is having some episodes and David thinks it might be his brain injury. At the gym, Gary gets arrested after he is found with drugs. The drugs were for Izzy;s pain relief. But now Izzy could be fired from her factory job.

Liz is still courting the silver fox parent by pretending to be Amy's Mom. Chesney goes off to Spain to see Joseph without Sinead who's come down with a bad cold after a chilly modelling assignment. Could they be drifting apart?

And now for some lines from the week that was:

The mother of Bethany's bully meets the Platts:
"It's like the flamin' Addams Family"
(they're creepy and they're kooky)

Maria to Luke:
"This is Pablo, my husband"
(Pablo is making a pic-ass-o out of Luke)

Pablo explains his problem:
"My parents don't know I'm gay"
(really?)

Maria says goodbye to Pablo:
"Go, be fabulous"
(traditional hairdresser blessing)

Mary's description of Gary's drug arrest:
"Weatherfield's Ginger Escobar"
(the red menace)

Sally speaks out after Izzy's cannabis situation is revealed:
"I'm very anti drugs personally"
(anti crime too, I would imagine)

Kylie to David re: Sarah's christening of Harry:
"I think she's built this up to be some kind of exorcism"
(where's Linda Blair when you need her?)

***
Well, Corrie carousers, so ends another week. Nice to see Maria back from the donkey sanctuary in Cypress. Luke and Maria (and Pablo) do make a lovely couple. Thanks for stopping by. All the best and have a great week.
