Coronation Street Catch-Up: the wise women of Weatherfield edition

a look back at last week on Canada's Coronation Street.

Poor Caz. She missed her bus. She was late for her interview. Her custard slice fell on the floor. She got gum on her shoe. Maria won't be gay. Etc. etc. Please Caz, take that job in Newcastle. I'll buy the one-way ticket.

Of course, I blame Maria. Let's face it. She isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. First she dumps Luke, then stands him up and then lets Caz worm her way back into her life and her flat.

Over at the Tinker's house, Craig is still at odds with his Mom and decides to visit his father in jail against Beth's wishes.  Sadly, Dad turns out to be a bit of a disappointment and tries to get Craig to score some dope for the next visit. But the big take-away for Craig is the fact that Beth is still married to Jailbird Poppa which means that she is a bigamist (since she is also married to Kirk).

Steph is trying to fill in for Leanne but Robert is not impressed. Andy is also not impressed since Steph is working long hours and it's interfering with his 'Walking Dead' activities.

Over at the rectory, some stool pigeon parishioner has blabbed about Billy's gentleman friend (Todd). As a result the Bishop is summoned and Todd will likely have to leave the House of God. However, it should be noted that the stool pigeon was not Sean. And, BTW, Sean had a birthday party for his 40th.

In Plattsville, David teaches bully Lauren a lesson by chopping off her hair in the salon as a warning to her to stay away from Bethany or else.

Roy has ordered a sofa bed for Alex which means that the separate bedroom policy will be continued for him and Cathy. Hmm.

Now for a few lines from the week that was:

Sally wants Craig and his pet to leave:
"First thing in the morning, he's going and the rat"
(but surely you don't want the rat living on the street)

Audrey re: Maria and her lip lock from Caz:
"You do seem to attract the gays, don't you?"
(not that there's anything wrong with that)

Craig to Faye:
"My Dad is a career criminal"
(well, at least he has a career)

Kirk to Faye:
"What is the capital of Paris?"
(The Eiffel Tower?)

Luke to Rita and Michelle re: their advice about Maria:
"Hooray for the wise women of Weatherfield"
( Hip, hip!)

Well, Weatherfield warriors, so ends another week. Have a great weekend and thanks so much for spending some time at the Hip. Cheers!
