Coronation Street Catch Up: the dirty dancing with Norris edition

a look back at last week on Canada's Coronation Street.

First, a correction. Steve McDonald's rare genetic condition is not called myxomatosis, which is apparently a viral disease that affects rabbits. Blanche's Polish Hip apologizes for the error.

Still, a little strange, don't you think? We're just finding out about this now? From Jim in the Big House? Liz didn't know about this genetic disorder. Andy doesn't know. Amy could have it. Steve could have it. Anyway, now it's a problem for everyone because of Steve's prodigious baby making (with Michelle and Leanne).

Elsewhere, Freddie takes dancing lessons from Norris. It's in Kev's garage so it is definitely 'dirty' dancing. Anyway, long story short: Freddie injures his hand.

Plattwise. David is in full nutbar mode as he releases the name of Kylie's killer on that popular social media site, FaceTwitt, and then visits the injured 'Macca; in hospital with a view to unplugging his life support. The coppers have a chat but let David go. Now he's lurking around the courtroom where Clayton's hearing is taking place.

Sarah finds out that Bethany has been taking diet pills and flips out, blaming Gary for keeping the info secret and not telling her. Anna flips out when she finds Faye entertaining a boyfriend in private.

Vinnie and Phelan plan to continue selling fake flats for three months before using their new fake passports to run away to a sunny beach with "birds" in either bikinis or burkinis - not sure which. In the meantime, Phelan convinces Eileen to get her old job back at Streetcars.

And now for a few lines from last week:

Freddie to Ty and Luke re: Rita
"She's a game old bird"
(such flattery)

Police officer wonders how David got so many cuts and bruises:
"What happened to your face?"
(before or after he got beat up?)

David explains to police how his face got all banged up:
"I fell over a dog"
(must have been rabid)

Freddie explains to Rita how he hurt his hand:
"Norris and I were dancing in the garage"
(Their paso doble got too physicial)

Sally to Eileen re: her job:
"We live in a meritocracy"
(I thought Streetcars was more of a taxidermy)

***

Well, Corrie comrades, so ends another week. I forgot to mention the passing of one of Corrie's legends, Jean Alexander, who played char lady extraordinaire, Hilda Ogden. She was a fabulous and funny member of the cast of Coronation Street for many years. A sad milestone indeed. Have a great week and thanks so much for visiting. Cheers!
